Now, if it were located right along the edge of the tower that might be a different story. And yeah, those newer rides are super freaky. Not sure what to think about those!

yes, i meant those.

insanity & x-scream (maybe doesn't look so bad but it's 350 meters high up above the ground level...)

So here's the back story to my Vegas trip....I was scheduled to leave Philly the Thursday night before the show.  My flight was oversold, so I volunteered to get bumped.  I was originally in coach class from PHL>MSP, then first class from MSP>LAS.  They rebooked me on the 6am flight out of Philly Friday morning, in first class the whole way.  They also gave me a $300 voucher and $20 in meal vouchers.  The gate agent did not rebook my ticket correctly and ended up putting me on a full fare first class ticket, which just meant that I got an additional 50% bonus miles, plus Northwest is running a triple mile promo for full fare tickets.

Now for the best part...initially the flight I was scheduled to take was about $700.  My wife found the same flight through NorthWest vacations, including 2 nights at the Riviera for $330.  Factor in the $300 voucher, plus the $20 in meal vouchers, and my flight plus 2 nights to Vegas cost me a total of $10!  :smth023

wish i was that lucky... i don't even want to start counting all the expenses of the trip (i've promised myself not to - so don't ask!).

by the way that overbooking must be some US-only kind of thing. i've never come across that in europe: here when you buy a flight ticket for a certain flight then you can count on having a seat on that plane.
i witnessed this on my flight back (washington D.C. > frankfurt): united had seriously overbook that flight, there must have been some 15-20 people on stand-by or something. eventually they had to start looking for a volunteer pilot to take another plane to frankfurt as soon as possible. thankfully i had secured my seat already when i left from vegas - i seriously don't know what i would have done, had i been told to stay on stand-by.
anyway, that is just totally odd and new to me, the way it works over there.

My flight to Vegas from Nashville was overbooked too but they were offering only $100 credit to give up your seat and I wasn't having any of that. Southwest is a little tight with the credits!
My flight HOME from LAX had to bump a couple of people because of the heat in LA that day--the plane was overloaded and couldn't take off! I could have very happily lived without knowing that.

I always end up waiting til last minute and paying out the ass!!!
That is why everything must be done in advance so as not to be late. I learned this after playing casino on Android for a long time and missed my flight. It was a shame to buy a ticket again, but it became my life lesson.
