Post by: Ulrich on July 15, 2015, 15:46:33
Let's not forget to mention Robert's latest collaboration with Eat Static:

QuoteThe Cure's Robert Smith has collaborated with another band following his very recent cover of The Twilight Sad's "There's A Girl In The Corner".  This time it's with an act he has been following for quite a while, the UK Electronica project Eat Static.  Listen to a sample of the track above, and you can pick up the song off the band's new album "Dead Planet", due out July 31st.

Just listened to it here (http://mesmobeat.bandcamp.com/track/in-all-worlds-ft-robert-smith) and I think it's pretty cool. Not least for that old school Bass VI sound...

Thanks for the link.
It sounds "okay", but I'm not "full of excitement".  :)

Not sure. He might prefer them for his private use or even for the Cure output, but in this case I think the decisions are in the hands of Eat Static and their record company.

Obvious.I have a problem with the "One pound or more" business model
because music is,naturally, less physical than a painting or sculpture. The
non-material value is hard to express. If Eat Static had a classic contract
with a major company,he might reach a greater audience.I mean after all
these years...

I have to say I like it. It's pretty sad they haven't made it available on Spotify or something like that. By now I have arranged myself with that kind of distributing quite well.

EDIT: Okay correction. They do have it on Spotify. The search function ist just shit ;)
