All my friends will be going to Paris  :( So I'll see the Cure in Portugal (if all goes well - work, visas, hotel, etc.) all alone... Ordered my ticket last week and now I'm getting worried that it can be lost on its way - how long it takes (usually)for tix to arrive?

i only saw this post now.
so to whoever comes to lisbon, here's 1 advice: you DO NOT want to book an hotel NEAR the venue, unless you want to bore yourself to death!
the venue is located at the place where expo 98 took place. the whole are has been optimized ever since to enterprises, some residencial areas, a big mall, etc, a "new city within the city". unless you bring your rollerblades, you will have little to do in this area. only place worst to visit there is the Oceanario (big aquarium). there are some bars and discos there, but they are CRAP!
so you want to stay in the center, where the FUN is. transports to the venue are no problem, bus, subway, taxi, whatever.
i can research some hotels and stuff later if there is interest. any info you'ld like post here and i'll answer later.

i don't know about that hotel. the area is not a bad one, but could be a bit more central imo.
here are some more central stuff i found with the same star rating as this one:

http://www.domcarloshoteis.com/

http://www.hotel-excelsior.pt/

---------

this site haves several pensions linked:

http://www.insidelisbon.com/EN/en_lisboa_aloj.htm

please note that i have no idea about the conditions or prices of any of the hotels/ pensions listed.

---------
this site haves a map with several hotels linked:
http://www.booking.com/hotel/pt/residencialmardosacores.pt.html

best central areas to stay?
marques de pombal, avenida da liberdade, chiado, restauradores, bairro alto (althought it's noisy because of all the bars).

just my 2 cents :)
