My name is David Sanchez and I am 27 years old still - will become 28 next month, 20th august ;). I am not married, but I have my girlfriend since about 3 years now.
I am a big Cure fan since 1993. I remember watching the Orange and Play out videos again and again and again. "The Big Hand" and "Push" have been and are my favourites songs since then.
I live in Lima, a city with nearly 10 million inhabitants. My country, Per?, it's also the third largest country in southamerica (equal to France, Spain and Portugal in surface, comparing). The most famous destination we have is Machupicchu, and old Inca's citadelle. The legend says Robert Smith have been here doing tourism, but no-one could confirm this...
I had the chance to see The Cure in Hamburg 2002. It has been without any doubt one of the happiest days of my life. A little review (in spanish) about this concert can be viewed here:
http://blog.pucp.edu.pe/item/35/catid/19
Anothers bands I love very much are Slowdive, The Church, Pink Floyd and Clan of Xymox. I am into gothic, new wave, shoegazing, synthpop and I hate latin music and rap
My favourite film is "The Shawshank Redemption" and my favourite writter is Marques de Sade ;)
I love travelling, I have been four times in europe. My favourite country there are Belgium and Slovakia.
That's me!
David.
My name is Erik, I'm nearly 33, and have been a big fan since Standing on a Beach.... Actually, more like 1989, which really converted me. I also started dating my girlfriend that year, and she is now my wife for ten years! We saw the band play in my home city - Ottawa, Canada that first summer together, and since then in 1992 (Toronto), 1996 (Montreal) and 2000 (Toronto).
Now we have two children, and they are the biggest love of my life. I work as a doctor, which takes up far too much of my time! I know no other cure fans in person anymore, but the internet has helped kep the interest alive. I also like bjork, dead can dance, r.e.m, etc...
Hey everybody !!
Nice to meet you, my name is Maxime, i'm french, i'm 22 years old, i come from Lille (in the north of France). Right now, i'm a student in Texas, that's very cool and in one month i'm going back home and i will move to Poitiers (middle west of France).
Anyway, like all of us i love the cure. I have discovered them in 1996. I don't know what is my favorite album but the ones i listen the less are Japanese Whispers and The Top (i don't say that i don't like them but i'm always more impressed when i listen the others...). I've seen them 2 times on the Dream Tour in France and in Belgium and i really want to see Porl Thompson in live... I listen as well Radiohead, Depeche Mode, U2, Nada Surf, Kent... and some cool french artists (Air, Daran, Miossec, Dominique A, Tiersen, Noir Desir...).
I love music, be with my "rock'n'roll" friends and have fun as long as possible !!!!
see ya'll !!!
I have to make a supplement.
My first Cure-live-experience was in Berlin 2000. Next Concerts were Glauchau, Germany (Woodstage-Festival 2002) and the incredible Concert in Hamburg in 2002. Someday I would like to visit a cure concert outside of Germany, maybe in France or England because the setlists are sometimes better or a little bit different.
My favourite Cure-Periods are 1984 and 1992. I think 1992 was the Climax of the Cure-History. They never sounded better. :o
Other Bands I like are MUSE (they are amazing) ,Coldplay, U2, Mylene Farmer (she is so beautiful  ) and many more.
to be continued....
Cheers, Tr# :D
My name is Alan (a.k.a Mr. Pinkeyes)... have 19 years old. I live in Chiapas (is a state of mexico). I've been listening The Cure since '98.
i love the draw, i am student...
is all for this moment jejeje
thanks!
atte. mr. pink eyes
Thanks for sending me the link to this site! I am downloading the Bremen and Buenos Aires shows even as I type.
I live in the USA and have been a Cure fan since I was a teenager and I am 33 now, so that's a long time! My favorite CD is Disintegration but I love them all. I have only started collecting Cure shows recently because I didn't have high-speed internet until a couple of months ago, but I have been amazed by the generosity and kindness of Cure fans in sharing the music.
I only have seen them live once, last summer on the Curiosa tour, but it was a perfect experience and definitely "my happiest night"!
And the above post was me because I wasn't logged in properly.
Obviously I should not post and drink wine at the same time!
Hi, my name is Armando, I'm from Mexico City, I hear the cure since 1990, my other favourites bands are: Siouxsie & The Banshees, Pulp, The Smiths and Suede
Welcome guys !! :D :D :D
Feel free to post...[/quote]
My name is Caley. I'm 25 years old and single. I live a couple miles outside of Sioux City, Iowa, USA ? a town of about 100,000 people. Iowa is about right in the middle of the United States, part of the "Midwest" ? a region of the country that The Cure seems to systematically avoid coming to! The closest they've ever come is Minneapolis, Minnesota (about 5 hours away). They used to play there almost every tour starting in 1984 (Boris' first show), but they stopped coming after I saw them there on the Swing Tour in '96 (this is for download on my web site). Now they only come to Chicago - about 9 hours away!
There are a lot of farms and stuff like that here, but it's not all like that. Country music and blues are very popular here, but more recently lots of famous rock acts have started to come here. We're not all a bunch of hicks like some people may think, but it's definitely not the most interesting place to live. I live in the country and have very few neighbors, so it is very quiet here, which I really like.
I discovered The Cure when I was 12 years old while on vacation in Florida during the summer of '92. I didn't have cable at home, so I stayed in the hotel room a lot of the time watching MTV while my parents were out enjoying the beach. Friday I'm In Love was extremely popular at the time, and the video seemed to come on just about every hour. The first few times I thought, "What a bunch of weirdos! What is this crap? That guy looks like a clown!" Then after a few more times I actually listened to the music and realized how good it was. I think that taught me a good lesson in not judging people by the way they look! Very soon I bought Wish and fell in love with it. A while later Show came out, and that's when I realized that everything they did was good. It wasn't long until I bought all of their official albums and became obsessed!
I like just about all types of music except country, blues, and polka. Some of my favorite bands include Nirvana, The Beatles, Kent, U2, Van Halen, and all kinds of other '80s and early '90s rock/pop type stuff. I know this is probably atypical for a Cure fan! Just recently I've really gotten into Siouxsie and the Banshees. I also enjoy classical, trance, and even some rap.
I started playing guitar when I was 7, but really got serious about it when I was 15. I've learned so much about music from The Cure, definitely my biggest influence. Robert Smith is a genius! I used to be in a band a few years back. We recorded a couple albums and did a few live shows, but we had a hard time staying together.
Well, I guess I wrote more than I planned, so I'll leave it at that for now! :D

Rodrigo,
I discovered your site (I can't remember how) about a couple weeks before it mysteriously diseappeared. I would check back from time to time, but of course with no luck. Now I know why!
Best of luck on your new site. You had some really cool stuff on the old one. Hope you didn't get in trouble for hosting mp3's ? some web services are really against that kind of thing. :x
Anyways, welcome to the site! :D
Thanks Caley!!
I'm glad to hear that you liked my former site. :D
I've visited your site and I think it's great!!

Geez. Is this some sort of epidemic? I guess it's safe to assume we are all VERY BAD people. Let's all do ourselves a favor and delete our own accounts right now to spare each other from the evil forces we exert!

Hi All,
I had to post after I read there was a new person to the site that was 15. I'm from the other end of the age spectrum. I'm new to the site and I'm 48. I've been a cure fan for about 10 years after randomly ordering Faith from a mail order music club. I find their music relaxing, mood softening, thought provoking all at the same time. It just plain ole makes me feel good. The only Cure concert I've been to is Cincinnati 2004 @ Riverbend. They were awesome! I particularly like to collect rare boots and singles. I'm also looking for a rare Cure T-shirt from the Kiss Me era, it's white with a large eye, a lot of writing, and a lot of colors (page 13 of A Foolish Arrangement site in the shirts section, bottom left hand corner).
I really appreciate all the folks who have made bootlegs available for download. I look forward to reading posts and the latest news.
Thanks again,
Rick (bigtruck)
Hi Rick. I want you to welcome here. Cool to have a fan here of your age.
Hope you enjoy the time here. Sometimes this should be the best Cure-Forum worldwide.
Cheers, Tr#
Hey Rick!!
Welcome to the site!! It's great that The Cure's music bring together people from different countries and different ages.
Thanks to the music all the barriers are broken!!!
Enjoy the site! :D
Hiya its nice to meet you!
I know the shirt you mean...............I want one to :D
Luke x :P
Welcome to the site! :D
It seems that so many Cure fans are young, which is odd to me considering how long the band has been around. I always wonder why you don't see more fans that are closer to the age of the band members. I'm sure there are plenty out there, but they must be "lurking in the shadows" as Robert once said...
The Cure's music is truly universal. It appeals to people of all ages, languages, and ethnic backgrounds. I know a lady who is 50 and is OBSESSED with The Cure. She thinks Robert is sooooo hot. It's really funny to hear her go on and on about him. Sometimes she even gets explicit about it... I am friends with her daughter who is a few years younger than me, and she is also a big fan. And yes, she is also hot for ol' Bob.
Hi Rick, welcome to curefans !!
Feel free to post and i hope the best for your T-Shirt !! (It looks interesting!).
:D :D
welcome Rick, keep trying ebay for your t-shirt, you never know :D
welcome
Yes it is nice to see a mixture of all ages at the cure shows, I've been a fan since 1986 almost 20 years, I'm now 40 ("39" was a good year and song), A great band will always have fans, and if a band can attrack a younger generation, that seems to never go out of style, that makes a band great, It makes me proud to see younger people get into the cure, it brings me back to the first time I heard them, I remember it well, it was the head on the door, and I was like WOW! I never heard anything like this before, I really like guitar based songs and in the 80's it was a lot of cheezy pop synths songs, that made the head on the door a refreshing pleasure to listen too, Thank you all for the great downloads, me collection is getting bigger, And when I come across some good stuff, I will post here, Javkiss
I think the band attract younger fans because adolesence is a turbulent time and they have a song or album to match every mood brought on by it i.e desolation - the Drowning man, extreme joy - Push, Anger and Violence - 100 years or Fight, Introspection - to wish Impossible things, Youthfull Nihilistic energy - So What and M.........the list goes on!
Luke x :P

hi. my name is brian. i'm from seattle, washington. been a cure listener since i saw some strange looking fellows playing combs in a closet on mtv way back in 1985. became a true fan a few years later when those same fellows were dancing around in bear suits and spinning on that dizzy edge :) in 1992 i took a vacation to london and spent much of the time drinking and looking for cure stuff i couldn't buy back home. first saw the cure live in 1992 (seattle). thanks caley for uploading this show! for some reason the cure skips seattle sometimes. no prayer tour show. no bloodflowers show. anyway, i've seen them several times now. in everett last year i filmed (poorly) most of the encores. if anybody wants them, just ask. speaking of the everett show, the third encore was going to be an idiot pop set (according to someone i spoke with that had a backstage pass). anyway, as robert was leaving the stage after bdc, i helpup a giant sign that said "M" and had a crayon drawing of mary. i was screaming "play M!!!!" at robert. he stopped, squinted at my sign, then nodded and mouthed "yeah". a few people around me were like he just said yeah to you. it was truely a great moment. the came back out and played m, play for today, and a forest. i really wanted to hear play for today. just figured ot was easier to write and see a bid "M". the play worked. my favorite songs are push, cold, sinking, a night like this, i'm cold, the baby screams, a strange day, this twilight garden, last dance, and play for today. they often change, but i'll always love the head on the door tracks the most...and cold:) enough rambling.
anyway, glad i found this forum. everyone here is great.
-brian

Hello I'm James From Anaheim California! I'm now 40 years old but still feel like I'm 25. The Avater is from a Halloween Party that I attended in 1989, The girl was my date for the night. That was the 3rd time that I dressed up as robert for halloween, I once went to a concert "oingo Boingo" dressed up and it was a blast!! It was in 1985 that I first discovered the cure, I heard the lovecats on the radio before and I did not know how they were, When I first listened to the Head on the Door, I was blown away, Wow what an incredible sound, guitar work like I never heard before, that was the start for me, my first Cure show was in 1986, Staring at the sea tour, followed by the kissing tour, distintigration, wish, missed the swing tour, but attended 2 bloodflower shows, the show at the greek theatre was the best, over 3hours long, then it was the kroq inland invasion, and then the new album last year in Carson 20th row the closet I've been so far, My Hobbies include music, recording and editing shows and making remixes, I play a Virtual guitar, and play along with cure instramentals, I plan to host a cure website soon, with my remixes and shows on it, I will post it in the downloads when I have it ready, thanks to everyone who allowed my to download from your site, I usually dont have long stories, but here I have to make an exception, I have a story for every cure show that I've attended - :D

HI FRIENDS, I AM RODRIGO FROM PUERTO MONTT AN LITTLE CITY OF CHILE SOUTH AMERICA. VERY VERY NEXT OF THE ANTARTICA CHILEAN
I LISTEN THE CURE SINCE 1998. GREETINGS FROM CHILE :D :D
Hi all,
my name is Tom. I`m the eldest ( as far as I know... ) member on this forum, aged 46. I have the final exams in law and I am married with a judge, we have 2 children at the age of 14 and 11.
We are living in Cologne, Germany ( the city with the big cathedral, the carnival and the best beer in the world ( " K?lsch " ) and we are in soccer ( 1.FC K?ln !!! ). I like to read crime novels, especially the ones from Scandinavia.
I`m in the Cure since 1980. First concert was " Munich 1981 ". Last one " Berlin 2005 ".
The song I like the most is " It used to be me ". Can`t listen to " Pictures of You " anymore...
I`m collecting records of the Cure since 1991. The most beloved item is a vinyl acetate of " The Lovecats " from 1983.
I`m really happy that a forum like " Curefans " does exist, because it makes Cure-life easy. If you don`t have that much time it`s " one click " and you are close to everything. When I started going to the WWW. in 1996 looking for Cure music and to find it was an adventure and now... The world is a happy village.
Best wishes
Tom

Hello Tom and welcome to Curefans.com :rocker
So you live in Koln, that's so lovely nice city. I was there back in february/march 1998. I went to the top of the cathedral. I remember there was a big carnival at that time. Really nice... So nice remembers

my name is Tom.
Best wishes
Tom

Hello,
My name is Ian, i'm 32 and live in Tucson, Arizona USA. The Cure is my favourite band by far. I have seen them 59 times (I think). I pretty much like all types of music and some of my favourites (besides The Cure) are U2, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Bob Dylan, Spiritualized, Mogwai, Pink Floyd, Slowdive, Echo & The Bunnymen, Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead & Cocteau Twins. I have a band called Ashengrace (www.ashengrace.com), and have played Bass for about 20 years, guitar for about 15 & drums for 10. I work for a corporate hell-hole and read J.D. Salinger about once a month. My cats are ther greatest things in the world (names: Mogwai & Seymour), and I spend most free hours listening to music and downloading more bootlegs to listen to...

hi my name is saul, im 34, i live in guadalajara, mexico, i am a fan of the cure since 1987, i?m married, have two beatiful daugthers, one 5 years old and the other 2 weeks. I have many favorites songs, but maybe the i have 3 that surface from the others, doing the unstuck becouse its a really optimistic rocking piece of song(especially the show version), Bloodflowers becouse the music its simply the best, the guitar are awesome, and the lyrics explain in a very robert smith way, the reality of relationship, and plainsong, well this one, nothing to say, just liked for what it is. beautiful. its hard to choose.

Hi Everyone.
I'm Sandro from Porto, Portugal and I know them since 1989 when i first saw the lullaby video-clip. I started to be a fan in 1992 when i bought the Wish album. My first cure show was in Sudoeste Festival in 1998 and since then i kept seeing them. This year was my seventh show at Benicassim (Spain). My fav of all was the Trilogy show at Berlim day 11th.
Hello everybody, I'm Pat, I'm 18 years old, and I'm The Cure fan since 6 months. I have a lot of pictures, albums, I collect all.
Hi,
I'm Vinnie, i'm 20 years old and i've been a Cure fan for about 18months- 2 years. i started listening to The Cure because i heard Blink 182 talking about them, so i decided to check out The Cure and instantly fell in love with their music.
also if anyone is interested i have a live audio recording of Blink 182 playing their song "All Of This" with Robert Smith and a Cover of "Boy's Don't Cry" from their wembley show last december. if anyone is interested, i can upload it to megaupload tomorrow and post a link to it somewhere on the forum.

First and foremost, welcome to the site! :D
I've always wondered if collaborations with newer artists would ever spark new interest in The Cure. Apparently it does! And finally, I'd love to hear the live version of "All of This".
Hope you enjoy your time here. :-)

Hey, I'm Joe. I'm 17 and live in Pennsylvania in the United States. I've been a fan for about a year and half or so. I got into The Cure after hearing "The end of the world" and went out and bought all of their albums over a period of time. My favorite album from them is Pornography. I have plenty of rarities and some shows as well.
I'm Trevor Mullis. Live in Georgia. Just got into the Cure within the past year. Passed up an opportunity to see them perform last year, as I wasn't into them at that point. Now I regret it, needless to say!
So far, I have many bootlegs and the first four Deluxe Editions, plus the Deluxe version of their new album. Listen to them all very often.

which also made me notice that i've actually never written anything here in this thread. it's a bit late yes, but maybe it's never too late to get up and go... ok then:
my name is marika and i live in finland, in helsinki which is the capital of finland but still not a very big city (it's about 500 000 people that live here). and it's definitely not the best location for a cure fan - for some reason the cure have never been so popular over here (try some heavy metal bands...) and so they never even bother coming this way anymore :smt022 , last time was way back in 1996(!). otherwise i'd say it's a good place to live, but i'm still not entirely sure if i want to stay here. let's see.
i just turned 32 - and happy to notice that i'm not the oldest person alive around here... ;-)
the first time i got in touch with the cure was in '89 when i saw the video for 'lullaby' in this chart show onTV. i immediately liked the music but i thought the band was slightly too weird. then the next thing i saw was 'why can't i be you?' and then i really thought that these guys are definitely too strange to be left unnoticed...
i am a musician, but in the field of classical music. i also still work in that area. pursuing these musical interests was pretty full-time job at one point of my life and so there's a period in my life when i sort of "fell out of grace" a little bit and wasn't really following what was going on with the band - but luckily i came back to my senses again later - good for me!
in addition to the cure i like things like joy division, banshees, u2 (mostly early stuff though) and other bands from that time & place, you could say music from late 70s/the first half of the 80s; also kent, kate bush, muse, some interpol, smashing pumpkins, nirvana etc. also industrial etc...
i hope everyone keeps enjoying this place as much i have! :smt045

Welcome Mel and Franck !!!!
Happy to see you here !!!
THANKS !!! :P
:P :P
And I thought I was a "hard core" Cure fan....
You all put me to shame.
I have been a cure fan since 1987. I got turned on to The Cure when two friends (fans) bought tickets to the Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me concert in 1987. I had never heard of the band. I then saw the video for "Just Like Heaven" and was hypnotized. I ran out and and bought the CD. I missed that concert, but my life has never been the same since.
Over the years, my musical tastes have ebbed and flowed between Death Metal and SKA punk like Dead Kennedys, all the way to Middle Eastern Indian Instrumental Sitar music, and the workings of Ravi Shankar.. But only ONE band has been present ALL the way through - The Cure.
My 9 and 11 year old sons love listening to some of my CD's - Given the above range, my wife does not allow them to listen to too much of my library, but she does allow them (and they take to) my Cure CD's. Their school had an "80's" day where kids dressed up in 80's era clohthing... My younger son asked me to help him dress like Robert! 8)
Many years ago, as a teenager, I rented "In Orange" - and fell in love with that concert. About a year later, the video retnal store was selling their "used" copy of the VHS, and I snapped it up... Watched it over, and over, and over... Could not get enough of it. I then made a cassette copy of the audio (did not have a CD player in my car) and listend to that until it wore out.
Cleaning out a closet last week, I stumbled accross that old VHS. I popped it in, and BAM - It hit me again like a ton of bricks... This time, I made a digital copy of the audio, and have not been able to put that down.
My favorite Cure albums are some of the older ones...
Pornography, Faith, Head on the Door, Kiss Me,
I could not come up with "favorite songs".. WAY to many... And they change with my moods. But I have noticed on this site (which by the way - I have just started looking at) that "The Forest" seems to have a pretty strong following... I can tell you that "The Forest" from "In Orange" comes pretty close to being an all time favorite.
I have only seen them live once... 07-13-1992 - Minneapolis, Mn - USA
I dream of having them come back again... But I'm not going to hold my breath....
Anyway - Thanks for such a great site... I feel "re-energized" about the Cure! I'll be in touch.
D
Welcome D, to the best Cure forum on the internet!!! And, if I remember correctly, the Minneapolis 92 show has been shared here in the past.
welcome, i hope you enjoy it around here! :-D
(and i agree with jeff about that certain thing ;-) )
marika
(the minneapolis '92 has been shared but isn't online anymore - but i'm sure it can be arranged though)
Welcome! Nice to have you here. :D
Welcome and enjoy the time here!! 8)
Welcome, neighbor. :D
I first saw them almost exactly four years later at the same venue. Attendance was relatively poor that year, so I think that turned them off to the area. A real shame since they had come so many times before...
Hope you enjoy your time here. :-D
Hi. Welcome here!!!! :D I have very good experiences with spain - I'm just listening to Mecano!!! :-D Very good Music.

Ciao Leipzigcure! WELCOME!!! I'm a new fan, too! ;)
Hello,
so...new here ! I'm from France and i'm very shY ....
See you ;)
hello and welcome :)
Hello,
I´m new to this forum. From Sweden, been a Cure fan to and fro for 20 years, saw three Cure shows in Stockholm back in the days (87, 89, 92, time really flies), lost the plot sometime in 96, but now back as a dedicated fan. Probably the deluxes triggered that. My favourite albums are Faith and Disintegration (surprise, eh?), but I still don´t understand the 96 and 04 albums. Perhaps they are worth another chance?
LIke so many new members I also try to figure out the magic of the downloads, a hint by PM on how to proceed would be nice...
Just introducing myself =)
I'm 34 years old and been listening to The Cure for at least 10 years now. Too bad I only saw them live once - which was in Chicago, Illinois, on February 2000 and it was great :rocker
Cheers,
Tom

nice to see more members from this edge of the world too :D
ps. "magic of the downloads" - if you mean passwords then wait the newsletter, that'll solve the problem ;)
ps2. yes i think 96 & 04 might be worth giving another try, not all bad...
it looks like we're having a lot of new members :-DÂ
so maybe this thread could be put back in the top of the page again
- so you can also introduce yourself here! :D
welcome aboard Tom, hopefully you will be able to see them again next year :)

Hi!
I'm new in the forum. My name is Florencia, i'm 15 years old, I think i'm the youngest member here jaja. I'm from Argentina (the ones who know about the shows The Cure has given here probably hate my country, even though there are a lot of nice people here! ;) ). Of course when they came to Argentina I wasn't born yet, and I can't travel alone yet, that means, of course, I have never seen The Cure live ( and probably never will, that's a pity and I'm very sad for that). There has been a very little time since I first listened to the cure (only two years), but they have become my favourite band.
I think that's all I have to say for now... and I'm very happy about having found this forum, you are very nice people! :D
Kisses to you all.
Hi. I'm _______________, from the MFC forum.
Hi, i'm Kim. I'm 20 years old and live in Maryland, United States. I've only been a fan of The Cure for about six months or so, but they are definitely one of my favorite bands. Still trying to get through buying all the albums, but it's hard because I seem to be developing a habit for getting into bands with large discographies. This seems like a very nice forum, glad I joined :)

Hello there :D
I´m Cris, from Brazil. I´m 35 years old and been a Cure fan since 1985 when a friend introduced me to ´In between days´. I did like it, but when I listened to ´the head on the door´ the song that really moved me was ´a night like this´. It was just perfect... And I saw myself falling in love with the band since then. I´m not as lucky as most of you who can see the band several times, they only came here twice and I happen to see them in these 2 ocasions! Best concerts I´ve been in my life!!!!
I´m a eye poker (haha joking - didnt mean to scare you), meaning I´m an eye surgeon, and also a keyboard player, but just as a hobby. Love many other stuff like photography, scuba diving, etc, etc.
Recently found this site and came across Caley - a very very nice person :smth023 So I thought I should stick around more often and introduce myself, and meet all the other nice people hanging around here.
Cya ;D
Hello,
My name is Charles. I'm 36 years old and have been a fan of the Cure since 1985. I grew up in New York, moved to Los Angeles for 10 years and now reside comfortably in the middle of the US in a small town called Sainte Genevieve, founded in 1735 and the oldest city west of the Mississippi River. I am married and we have a 10 month old boy.
I've been into bootleg trading for about 7 years though mostly in the Smashing Pumpkins community. Though I love The Cure and enjoy their bootlegs it always seemed that it was a strangely closed trading community especially for someone just starting out. I am very glad to see that is changing and that there are many traders and tapers who are now willing to share their treasures with those of us who have nothing of equal value to trade. I'm considering getting into taping so hopefully I will have something to contribute to the community next time The Cure come to St. Louis.
im not sure if ive posted in here already, my name is connor from wales white stripes obbsesive big cure fan, big dead kennedys fan, wide range of music like. www.myspace.com/manonaporcupinefence. and i apologise for my lazy sentence patterns

Hi everybody.
My name is Romain, i'm 18 years old and i live in France, in the south-east, between Nice and Marseille.
I've knew The Cure when I was 14, and since, they became my favorite band.
I've seen 2 concerts, one in Lyon, and one in Six-Fours, the town where i live, for a festival, both in 2004.
hello!
My name is David, i'm from Terni, Italy!
I'm Lady's boyfriend! ;)

Hello Curefans
I'm Syed Ahmad Fakhrulrazi,23 years old and i'm studying in UiTM Shah Alam.
Im from Malaysia, the country with the KLCC.. and the country that has only a several number of CureFans...:smth047
I love The Cure since the day i watched A Walk video..i really think that they are so out of the box and this is why i picked them as my all time favorite band..
Listening to The Cure is a must in my daily life..That is my hobby for a number of previous years..
Currently exited in collecting The Cure stuff..and what i really need the most is their T-Shirt..(its hard to find them in my country)
I realy think Curefans.com is the best place for me to share everything and earn a lot of info about The Cure..The best 'ear comforter' in the world :smth040
Well :smth100. My name is Carlos, and I live at Santiago de Compostela. I'm 37 years old (just now) and I like The Cure from the early 87 consciously, but when I was just a 10 years old child I liked a song that I always sang: it was Boys don't cry, but I didn't know at that time who were The Cure. It was very special for me when I knew it :smth020.
I've seen to The Cure at La Coruña '98, Santiago '04, Benicassim '05 & London '06. :D
Ah, some people says me that I seem like Porl :rocker
I missed this thread originally, but glad I found it now.
I am Steve (38).
Originally from Worthing in England, but moved to Hungary 6 years ago.
I work for a large multi national electronics contract manufacturer in Zalaegerszeg, but come back to my flat in Balatonfured every weekend.
I like to go fishing & sailing on the lake.
I have been a Cure fan since 1982, when Pornography seemed to be a perfect excuse to upset my mother.
I have seen the Cure on a number of occasions (Brighton 85, Wembley 89(last night) Crystal Palace 90, Birmingham 92 (still looking for this recording :18/11 ;)), Budapest 2002).
Best one of those was the Wembley gig.
Also a fan of The Sisters Of Mercy, The Psychedelic Furs, The Raveonettes, The Cult, Siouxsie (old) to name but a few.
Good to meet so many like minded people out there from all over the planet.
Cheers.
Steve

Ah! A new persons thread.
I'm Sara (Middle name, Elise, if you hadn't guessed)
I'm 19, and I live in Australia. Been a Cure fan for only about 6 months (Got Greatest Hits for Christmas, fell in love and am slowly collecting the backcatalogue) and I just bought my ticket to see the band at their August 12th Melbourne show.
I play piano, I'm a mediocre guitarist, Lovecats has inspired me to pick up the bass (but I'm really not very good yet) and I sing in a (very) casual band.
There's a very brief and vague summary of me, hope to get to know some of you better.
I am 15, and I only found out about The Cure two years ago after hearing "Boys Don't Cry" on the radio. Oh boy, I had no idea that they'd move their way to the top on my list!
I am mostly found scattered across the net with the same handle: Johnnyswitchblade. On youtube, I make lots of films. I am on many forums and message boards of various sorts, and my Myspace is even called myspace.com/icodecure. The page is riddled with pictures of Robert and the band.
I am pretty sensetive and suffer depression and anxiety disorder (which is why I feel something in common with the band and Robert's melancholic lyrics).
I honestly think that Robert is one of the coolest people alive...something about him is just so interesting...I just love everything about him and the band (in a totally not-gay way if you can imagine that) No really, I'm straight.
My favorite era of the band was when they started out as Malice in High school until around 1990. I have never been to a concert of theirs but I would love to go to one soon! :rocker
So peace out, and I am glad to be here!

And thanks for making me feel young. :P Well, sort of.
C'mon 36 is NOT that old. And I went to thecurebathroom once and it was this weird site that was designed like a nasty bathroom. And curefans were there, but it seemed like it was a chat site. But there were no links or anything. The site that you gave me was cool, but not the one I was talking about. Maybe I should go to thecure.com. It's boring over there but it's a nuthouse too. I probably won't even get my question answered. I googled the site and that didn't help either.

My name is Shelley, and 36 isn't old, because I'll be 36 2morrow! Birthdays are great because I get awesome gifts from my boyfriend and I get 2 be spoiled like I like 2 spoil everyone else all year around! I've been a huge Cure fan since high school and I finally got 2 see them live for the first time after college (and 2 others), thanks 2 my great boyfriend, over the past 10 years and I'll be there 2 see them in Dallas on Oct. 17th. I love this site and am glad 2 be a member!
Hello! :-D
I'm also a newbie. My name is Jens and I'm from Magdeburg/Germany. I'm 32. I know the boys for many years. My 1st concert was in Leipzig in 1996. And it follows Berlin 2000. Hamburg 2002 and Berlin 2005. Like especially the early 80s stuff.
Hope to hear a new record from them very soon and that Robert still employs a new/old keyborder....
I like this place very much.
Cheers!
Hello I'm Ivan, 19, I come from Serbia, it's on the mid-south of Europe. Janko came to my fanblog and told me about this forum, so pop - comes me! :-D
First time I heard (seen) of The Cure was in a mini-van in Macedonia, on one of my organisation's trips: one of my colleagues put The Greatest Hits DVD, and after seeing a Forest and LGTB videos, I was stunned, they have already become my favourite band. The Cure was never in Serbia, so I haven't had chance to see them, but they were announced couple of times, so I almost had several heart attacks... anyway, I'm glad I'm here as a member of wider Cure Lovers Community!
I did Serbian Wikipedia page about the Cure and their Discography page
http://sr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kjur (you'll find link for discography) and I'm intending to spread Cure magic through Serbia!

Hi, I'm known as Siouxsie on the internet, and I am an 18-year-old female from Brisbane, Australia. Needless to say, I am a huge Cure fan, and I was lucky enough to see them live in concert a few weeks ago! That was an incredible experience, and probably one of the highlights of my life.
I don't know how long I've liked them for, because I first started as a casual listener before becoming an obsessive fan. XD I can definitely say that they have helped me through a sizeable portion of my teenage years.
I'm glad to have found this forum. :-D

Hello! I am 35 years old and live in the US. I discovered The Cure, 6 years ago. I was doing some research, on the internet, on goth bands and they happen to be listed. The band caught my interesdt and I listen to a few of their songs and instantly fell in love.THey have been my favorite band, ever since. And, from listening to those songs, I can see clearly, that they are not goth. In fact, they are one of the few bands, to which, on genre can apply. And other than their lyrics and music, is one of the reasons, I love them. I owen most of their albums. Pornography was my first.
Nice to be here.

Hi and thannk you Steve ,disintegration and silversand.

I get flooded with insults by kids at my school for prominantly stating my love for The Cure. I have this jacket I wear all the time that has a Robert Smith pin on it, and I always wear Cure T-Shirts and Siouxsie Tees...
This one kid in particular calls me names like "fag" and "gay" and makes fun of the band on a daily basis, saying it's no wonder I like them "I must be crazy."
Well, being that I am crazy, the "fag" and "loser" comments get to me moreso than the "crazy" comments. Am I talking? I don't even know what I'm writing...

I think they wouldn't do it if it's a band who is hip at the moment. Or am i wrong? ???
Don't let it get down on you Carnage Visor :)

Just thought I should say that I've changed my screenname here from Icingsugar to APinkDream. I thought, if I'm going to do it, I better do it right at the start so as not to create any confusion or anything. Once I found out what Icingsugar meant - the song, I mean  - I did'nt like it as a screenname anymore. APinkDream is much more suitable.

Hello! My name is Makoto, I'm 19 this year and serving my national service in the Singapore army. To be honest I wasn't that big a fan of the Cure (I knew all the big songs of course, and a few others) until I went for the concert in August this year and was absolutely blown away. Favourite Cure song? Probably 'A Letter To Elise' or 'Pictures of You'. 'Fire in Cairo'. Loads of them. :)
Hello everyone,
Well, here we go again, another wild Cure ride! My name is Menno, 33 years old and I live in Geleen, The Netherlands. Been a fan as long as I can remember, but the fire went ablaze the first time I saw 'em live, Werchter 1990. Since then, I've been to some incredible shows, including Hyde Park 2002 and the Trilogy gig in Berlin. For Rotterdam in 2008 I'm hoping How Beautiful You Are and The Big Hand will be played (incredible dreams come true), but of course anything will be great, I'm bringing some loved ones for whom it will be a first time. The Cure is heaven.

And a big hello and welcome to you, Makoto!! I agree they are quite amazing live!! :rocker Glad you joined us and have fun. Take care as well. :D
Hey guys!
So glad to be here :-D
Umm... okay. I'm 14. I love The Cure.
Yeah, I'm into alot of New Wave and Darkwave bands.
The Cure, for me, is just the bee's knees!
I live in Ontario, Canada.
I'm a niner in highschool :P
And yeaaaah.
I don't really know when I started to like them, but I liked them when I was around 9 or 10, when I heard 'Just Like Heaven' on my cousin's CD player, then I kind of forgot about them, then I listened to them every now and then, mostly 'Just Like Heaven' and 'Boys Don't Cry', but now I'm into alot of their more punk stuff, and I admit, a little obsessed.
Oh, and Robert Smith is amazing.
Hi I'm new here. I love the Cure!! I just went to the Melbourne concert in August, it
rocked!!
:rocker I'm a black belt in taekwondo and I'm in Year 7. Hi, again. :smth027
Hey Hey!!! My chosen name is Phoenix....compared to all you others out there I'm probably a fossil!! LOL I'm 51 years old...yes 51...and I've been into The Cure ever since hearing Pornography in 82. An ex-drummer I always wanted to be in the band ever since Boris left, but for some reason known only to himself, Robert decided to choose Jason!!! Good choice mate! I've seen them more times than I can remember...the last being the Royal Albert Hall last April (06). I've got my tickets for the Wembley show next March....so if you see some old b**tard looking totally lost it's only me...come and say hello. Unless asked specifically I don't bite ok?? :P
Hey!!! I'm new here and I listen to The Cure since I was 12 years; now I'm 32 and I just went to the Mexico's concerts october 21th and 22th :rocker amazing concerts!!! The Cure rules!!! :smth020
Hi, my name is Boris from Germany, and I´m a fan since 1989. My father and I attended the Prayer Tour show in Frankfurt when I was only 11 years old. It was so inspirational in so many ways since now I´m a musician myself and The Cure is still my biggest influence. My favourite album is, of course, Disintegration. I´ve watched The Cure on the Dream Tour, the Zillo Festival and the Trilogy show in Berlin which was simply a dream come true for me.
I don´t know exactly how to contribute to this forum yet but I think it´s a nice opportunity to keep contact with like-minded people and read about experiences and stuff first hand. Let´s see...
Just found this thread and realized I hadn't introduced myself.
I'm Kat from Boston, MA and can name the Cure as my favorite band since the mid-80's. I first heard them on the radio in 1981, but it took me a few years to find out what this band was actually called...before that time they were "that cool band that I don't know the name of."
Already old enough to be the mother of an adult son, I'm probably one of the older folks in cureland. It's a real joy to see teens and younger adults discovering The Cure.
Right now, I'm really looking forward to the European tour where I'll be traveling on the Continent with a German friend for several dates and then to the UK to see my sweetie. Also can't wait to meet some of the wild and crazy Dutch fans who have become dear to me over the past year.
Later for the US tour, there will be a crowd of about 10-15 of us who are doing some East Coast shows and hanging around together for 2 weeks. We have some Cure after-parties at clubs in the works and when I have more information about these, I will let everyone know.
Other bands that I really like include Sisters of Mercy, The Mission and The Smiths; but no other band other than The Cure inspires me to go out and seek other fans and interact on boards like this.
Glad to know this board is here. Looks like a nice place.
hi everyone!!!my name is...it's hard for foreigner..my name is jarir..just call me kickbutt.i don't know how i got the idea to used this weird nickname but i already used it for a long time..i'm from malaysia..20 years old man..and i'm a medical student..nice to meet all of you here :-D
So! hello I'm Johanna I'm from Venezuela, South America, but my family are from United States and Holland, I'm 23 years old I'm a big Fan of The Cure since 1999 after my father's died, i listen so many other bands, too, but, my favorite is cure, well, i would like to meet nice people here so, maybe I'll get new friends who i can share the same music taste and other ways to think about life i guess.. :)
yeah g'day to all those just like me. i am a 41y.o male living in Tasmania. my love affair with The Cure goes back to the early 80's. for me The Cure are number 1 followed very closely by Siouxsie and the Banshees and all the other bands that emerged postpunk, mainly New Wave/Romantics type of music. my love for Robert cannot ever be questioned. he is so briliant, an artistic genius. i love him because he is so very different. his words and music inspire me greatly. i will never get tired of listening to The Cure's music, NEVER. i cannot say which is their best song or album because they are all brilliant. they have never released a bad song or album. i have seen The Cure perform live twice, the 1st time in Melbourne then again in Brisbane. i wish i could see them more often but i am not wealthy enough. thanks for taking the time to read this. LONG MAY THE CURE PLAY.

first show was bercy in 1987, the loop is now complete.

i use the same alias on dime, & used to be karelgott in the very first times of PPTC.
Hi, My name is Shaun, and I am from Derby, in the UK.
Im 35 years old and have been a cure fan since Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me.
The Wembley Arena gig on March 20th 2008 was alas, my first cure gig and I loved it.
From the opening chimes of Plainsong I was speechless, and havent yet fully recovered!
Sending best wishes to everyone.
Shaun.
Hello.
I've been a fan since 1989. Saw them first that year on the Prayer Tour, my first ever gig, and was blown away. Saw them for the 4th time at Wembley on 20th March (a week ago today!) and managed to get front row. I was speechless too. 41 songs! Amazing.
Saw someone with a curefans.com t-shirt on and thought I'd pop by...
Newbie here :smth006
Yeah, pretty much a newbie here too. I'll cut and paste some of my recent post to give you a picture of how much of a newbie I am. :D
My first Cure concert was the Cure 4 tour concert they had in Stockholm in February 2008, and although I'm sure it was far from one of the best concerts of the tour, it was a turning point for me. I went to the concert "just" liking the band, and gradually, over these past two months, I've been growing more and more into a hardcore fan. At the moment, I'm head over heels about them. Could very well be committing for life. :-D Thank god Robert didn't pull the plug on The Cure in 2000 (I've heard it was close), I probably wouldn't have truly discovered them. At least not for a long time.
I'm Elin by the way, Swedish blonde (hands off) currently living in Gothenburg.
Cheers.

we got to mention about needed robert smith products like a robert smith bobble head, robert smith action figure, robert smith plush doll, robert smith halloween costume!
I've been going to http://www.gmu.edu/ college campus telling students about robert smith of the cure, some say they never heard of the cure and never seen robert smith before. some knows but not much as I do and we fans do. I think the cure is a old band that not that many young people heard of this band before. at the GMU I showed robert smith pics to the students. I wanted to show pics to the college students because robert smith is the best, he's like the hero!

@DJscribbles -- speaking as a member of the "Curefan mothers who have introduced their children to The Cure" category, I would like to respectfully ask of you that you
not speak of us in the past tense! We're still alive and kicking and going to Cure concerts! :-D :smth020

Hahaha. Yeah, my mom is definitely a solid fan... That's the one thing she and I still have in common! She actually went to Curiosa a few years back with my aunt who is close in age so... yes, they are "alive and kicking".

my apologies, i don't why i used the past tense verb,it makes it seem like there are no more cure mothers or something!my own mom listned to the cure in college, but i can't say she's a fan, and i've seen more people around that age than teens at the shows, and yet i used was. i just realized how slow i was yesterday. -_- no worries, im better at distinguishing my past and present verbs now =D

Hi Everyone!
I'm Stephanie from Mississippi. I was lucky enough to see The Cure play on Saturday in Rosemont for the 24th time. I've been a fan since 1987, and saw the band live for the first time in 1989. I met Robert Smith in 1996 in Mobile, Alabama and again in 2000 in Sydney, Australia.
Currently I have tickets for the 3 upcoming Texas shows, and now my friend who was going with me cannot miss class, so I am seeking out a possible roadtrip buddy for these 3 shows. I will be posting another thread about this, but if you are interested in this roadtrip and live in mississippi, louisiana, texas or somewhere in that vicinity, feel free to send me a message and i'll give details.

Hello, my name is Jasen, and I am 27 years old. The seductive feline in my photo is Siouxsie, which I adopted in Los Angeles on her 6th day; her 7th day would have meant euthanasia. I recently graduated from a local university with my Master's and plan on pursuing a career in teaching or federal law enforcement. I have lived in Huntington Beach, California, since I was 19 and I am an avid surfer and soccer player. I have seen The Cure a total of five times ( :smth023) and pride myself on being a huge concert person. Since the beginning of the year I have seen The Mars Volta, Siouxsie, Rasputina, Live, and The Cure. Stone Temple Pilots will be next month, and NIN later in the summer. As well, I have an eclectic taste in tunes, and enjoy most types of music except country and rap (can't spell crap without rap!) I love talking music, drop me a line some time, I do not bite. ;)

Hi,
my name is Norman.
I´m 36 years old, my home is in Germany near Wolfsburg.
So, i´m in THE CURE now for round about 20 years, seeing them live in Hamburg in 1996,2000,2002 and 2008. My first contact were in 1988 with taping a show on the radio. After listen to it several time, i´could get enough of the music and the different style. Until today the band is my all time favorite; the music has often helped to manage very difficult situation.
Hoping of another concert in 2009.
Greetings Boba3000

Hey there,
my name is JP, I'm a french Cure fan for ... ;)many years now, since basically Staring at the sea was out (I spent at the time what seemed a lot of money to get the CD).
I've been to 8 Cure concerts so far, the latest being Paris last March, with an amazing performance.
I'm also a member of CureConnection community, and I'm off course collecting boots for a long time (I used to have so many awful sounding tapes ...) and I hope to get here some nice shows from the Audio section and also being able to share some interesting things with you.
Cheers, :D
just a quick little p.s.
If anybody has a good recording of the 28 may 2008 San Jose show I would love a copy. It was my son's (now 13) first concert.
Brought a bit of a tear to my eye to see him rocking out to songs I saw live when I saw them the first time in 87.

So, Hi there. :-D
My name is Scarlett. I am from Cottonwood California.
( http://www.cottonwoodcofc.org/index.html ) It is a town so full of Cowboys, and red-neckery that I stick out like a sore thumb.
I have always liked The Cure, and just never known it. I grew up on Country Music, and that stuff. I had ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS loved the song Friday I'm in Love. Whenever I heard it my heart just jumped. I just didn't know who did the song. A few years back I decided to download it. Okay, the name of the group who does that song is "The Cure." Okay. I'll remember that. Then I downloaded more stuffs. HOLY CRAP! I found so many songs that I had always liked, but I had never known the artist. So it turns out I had always been into The Cure, but never consciously. I am glad I'm awake now.
I have two dogs, sing opera, and am learning to play bass.

Thanks. Nice to meet ya.
Hi everyone! I'm Leah and I've been a serious Cure fan for about 4 years - the highlight of 2008 was dancing around to Grinding Halt in Fairfax. I'm more of a fan of the dark stuff, but that was just so much fun!!! No luck finding a boot yet :( I also have a little vinyl collection going - my latest acquisition is Bloodflowers.
As for the other stuff, I'm a musician with a stupid desk job who likes to surprise people at open mic nights by playing Mint Car, and I'd eventually like to go to the UK to do postgraduate work in urban studies. I had the best time of my life in Oxford!
I'm really glad to be a part of this community, it seems like a great place.
It's nice to meet you all!
Hello guys
I am a Cure fan since February, not that long, but I love this music wholeheartedly. I'm from Poland. Age? Tomorrow I am 21.

HELLO! :)
Hello there! My dad recently got into The Cure as well. I remember when I first got into The Cure--it was really fun to discover more and more about them, and to talk to people about them. I think that this will be a good place for you.
I have a friend from Poland, and I have a lot of Polish blood in me, too. I think he's going back there to visit this summer. AND, he apparently has a Cure shirt from some tour, but he doesn't know which one because he's not a huge fan. But if he hangs around me enough, he soon will be...

Hello, my name's Lauren and I've only been listening to The Cure for 6 months, but already they are my favourite band. Robert Smith writes such timeless love songs. I'm only 16 so haven't got the chance to see them live yet.
Hi.
I'm Will and I've been a casual fan of The Cure for about 8 years. The first time years ago I heard 'Disintegration' I fell in love, but I didn't appreciate them yet. Over the last year or 2 my life has changed for the better and I really started to discover how great the music really is. So slowly my lonely self title and Disintegration Cd's started to get company among other albums and the next thing I know I've become a huge fan. I wanted them see them on the recent US tour, but I was tied down with work and college. Maybe someday.
hi everyone. my name is peter and i am a cureholic :) fan for just 17 years or so. seen them ... more than a few times. and i despise the new material!
Hi everyone! I'm new to the board and wanted to introduce myself. I'm 29/f from the US and stumbled across the site this evening. It looked interesting, and as a die-hard Cure fan I decided to give it a go. I've posted on many other forums before and once they start to get insulting or ridiculous, I stop logging in. This one however, looks great! I'm looking forward to posting and getting to know everyone on here..so keep an eye out for me!

Hello... I'm new here. I was just told about this forum so I thought I check it out. Sounds like a great place! I live on the West Coast of the States near the ocean & have liked the Cure for awhile but sometimes don't like to post bcuz people can be cruel. I have seen them live many times & had the pleasure of meeting them on the Curiosa Tour.
Hello everybody! My name's Pierre, I'm twenty and I've been a Fan of the Cure since my first Concert (Deam Tour). But this year I'm totally loosing control and now I'm a damned groupie...not, but, i don't know, really really addicted to them. So I have to register everywhere for sure, such as here....
So I hope you're nice guys, are you? 8)

as I would love to welcome all new members... this thread has been clearly recommended that only new members post here, and if we ( the Curefans Community) wish to acknowledge new members, we should send a P.M. ... :
Truth, but is also true that since some months ago already (after we set up that "rule") people started to welcome each other and no-one mind about that anymore. Since it have been that way from some months ago already, it makes not much sense to look for trouble where is no trouble...
Hi, my name is Scott and I've been listening to The Cure since around 1991. A roomate played the Disintegration song on a tape for me while musing over the lyrics and I was immediately hooked. Since then, I've seen them four times with my favorite show being the 2000 Dallas show.
I used to keep a bootleg trading site under the pseudonym Mr Monty Hall and I hope some of you might remember me (I stopped hosting the site in 2005). I remember a few names from some of the other boards and look forward to chatting with you.
I have a pretty big bootleg collection (up through around 2002 with only a few boots since then). I get them mostly from DC++ now.
I play guitar (not professionally) and love alternative, hard rock, and progressive music. Some of my favorite bands other than The Cure are Live (the band), Pink Floyd, Genesis, Radiohead, Harvey Danger, Placebo, Rise Against, System of a Down, Fink, Thrice, and 30 Seconds to Mars. I love reading horror and fantasy (H. P. Lovecraft and Lord Dunsany are my current favorites).
I have a two year old son and still consider myself a new father. He is the best thing in my life!
Glad to meet you all.

Hey everyone! You might remember me from a while back, I left for a very long time!
I decided I needed to sort things out in my life, get out of the negative environment I was in, and start anew.
I've been posting in another forum for NightmareOnElmStreet, but this one moderator has been insulting and ridiculing me to no end (he's the same age as I am, and it baffles me how such a man can be granted the authority of Moderator), so I decided to start posting here again, where you all are very friendly and accepting!
I must be honest, I haven't been very gleeful lately. There's alot of very sad things that have happened this year in my life. I just hope you guys will understand and empathize with me if I ever seem too much of a downer.
Once again, I am very happy to be back, and hope we can all share our love for The Cure once again! :)
This thread has too many pages so I rather create a sub-board for member introductions. If you're new to Curefans.com go here (http://curefans.com/index.php/board,52.0.html) and create a new topic. Thanks.
