I said I'd post some old uploads of Cure anomalies so here's the first. Both are versions of the live improvised song Forever (that began its life as Three from Seventeen Seconds) so for me qualify as anomalies in and of themselves. But these two versions are special as they're medleys with covers.

The first is from the New York Ritz show on 11th August 1987, You Really Got Me by The Kinks with the ending of Forever:

The second is from the New York Ritz show on 11th August 1987, Forever going into Wild Thing by The Troggs.. And yes, that's Lol taking over the singing of Wild Thing!

If you've not heard them before, enjoy! :)

thank you Matt!!! Great inputs, also on your blog. The links though for the Ritz songs are the same...
I liked to read your comments on some live songs on your blog! For me faith live is what for you seems to be forever. I could listen to it for hours....
Surprisingly, not as many, you like the 98 shows. Ok the ones you mention are not bad. I attended only one in 98 (in Sion/ Switzerland) and it was not that great....Though all the songs you mention are differently in a nice way (sinking especially).
How could you not mention COLD in th 1984 Washington show, incredible one for me , slow and full of emotion!
Thanks again for your work, me unfortunately I am not that organised....

here the right one

Thanks Rietan - link now corrected. :)

I love Faith too - in fact it's probably my second favourite song after The Figurehead, with All Mine coming third. Plus if I was to say my two favourite live performances they'd both be versions of Faith (24 July 1989 and 9th December 1987). So I'm with you there!

And yes, that 984 Washington show is a classic - all the better of course due to its being a great quality soundboard recording....

  Loved that version of Wild Thing.  Thanks for posting.

Here's the Goodies version, for anyone who hasn't heard it.  :rofl

We regret we can't find the full original episode visuals on YT, on which they try to make a supergroup, with Elton John's glasses, the Wombles' feet, Gary Glitter's chest hair (a rug Bill Oddie straps to his chest), Kojak's "hair" and other such delights...
