Today I woke up and I played my vinyl of WMS. I think "Want" is the best The Cure song to start a day for its ambitious lyrics. After all, we all want more and expect more of every day.

What do you think?

i'll never really get more hope, or any more time...

maybe the best song is fight...or maybe faith...
fortunato il popolo che non ha bisogno di eroi

it's often that I listen to The Cure in the morning, they're more of an after 8pm band to me

If any of their songs fits early morning, it would be "Gone"! ;)

QuoteOh, you know how it is
Wake up feeling blue
And everything that could be wrong
Is including you
Black clouds and rain and pain in your head
And all you want to do is stay in bed

But if you do that, you'll be missing the world
Because it doesn't stop turning, whatever you heard
If you do that, you'll be missing the world
You have to get up get out and get gone

So you know how it is
Wake up feeling grey
Nothing much to think and nothing much to say
Don't want to talk, don't want to try
Don't want to think, don't want to know
Who, what, where, when or why

This is only part of the lyrics, but perfectly describes how I feel on some mornings (not all thankfully)...
The holy city breathed like a dying man...

I think "In Between Days" is a good one with that pop power to jump from the bed

I wake up every morning at 6.00 am. My alarm wakes me up to The Exploding Boy. I don't think there is a better way to be woken up. Try it... Let me know your thoughts.....

I think I totally agree. WMS came out whil I was in my last year in school, and I remember waking up to Want a lot of times. Not only the lyrics, but also the song's dynamic build-up is perfect for starting anything (day, night, journey - you name it).
and we close our eyes to sleep
to dream a boy and girl
who dream the world is nothing but a dream
