QuotePerry Farrell:  "It is so exciting to have The Cure at Lollapaloooza for the first time because I love The Cure and we've never had them. It's always frustrated me and made me feel incomplete and now I can feel complete and die."

they're the best. being a fan for about 20 years now, and saw them last time in Peru, during the LatAm2013. Amazing show. hoping for a The Top/THOTH/Kiss Me trilogy one day.

Was watching the first few songs of the set and was really frustrated, couldn't hear RG (again) and wondered if we ever would.  Then Just Like Heaven started and my jaw dropped to the floor.  Let there be guitar!  He finally got let loose and was amazing for the rest of the set.  The Cure lives again.  Made me forget, uh, what was his name?, for an hour and a half.  Great guitar sound, excellent decision making as to what to play and a bit of noise to boot.  When did this start?  I haven't heard or seen anything like this in two years.  Awesome set too, they dropped some of the tunes I can do without, probably because of the festival (although that's all they play these days).  Used to do a lot of skipping around through the set (not physically, I mean bypassing songs) but I was able to listen for pretty much all of it (still can't handle Wrong Number).  The band is interacting with each other too, Simon crossed the stage to talk to RG, Roger and Simon were screwing around, they seem to be a good unit.  It is unfortunate but I can't see RG being a full fledged member, he's gotta get his name on a tune or two.  Make that a GOOD tune or two.  Best wishes and damn fine show RG!

Really? I myself couldn't hear much difference to what I heard from summer 2012 and spring 2013 (South America), but each to their own...

Obviously I haven't heard enough of the recent stuff, will check it out more closely.  I may have tuned out on some of it too soon, but it took more than 20 minutes in Chicago to finally break loose.  If I haven't heard guitar by the 20 minute mark I definitely lose interest.
