When your husband comes in whistling, and you say, "Doesn't it?" and he erupts in lengthy laughter.   (He was whistling the first line of One Hundred Years.)

Suppose you have a romantic encounter. Several months pass. Then you see the person again who is completely dressed in black. 😎

You do a coastal hike through West Australian sclerophyll and decide between you that this species - Xanthorrhoea preissii - is honorary Cure vegetation.

You consider bringing craft shop eyes along and a bit of lipstick to adorn one of them on your next hike.

@MeltingMan, I think some of these things are sexually transmissible.  :winking_tongue  ...after all, I was infected by my husband into becoming a Cure fan.  :angel

When your sister makes you face masks with Robert Smith fabric! You cannot view this attachment.

Welcome (back, apparently), @shel1971:cool  We don't get that many people talking to us here.

OK, now I have to contribute to the topic:  When you participate in an online political discussion and end up dropping in a link to Us or Them in to make a point... :angel

PS:  You're in Dallas!  What a great place to wear that kind of mask!  ;)

Thank you! Life got crazy and took precedent to any online presence for awhile but I am easing back into fun. Yes, Texas is a point of political controversy with the mask thing but if cooler heads and common sense prevail, along with vaccines and promoting getting our economy going can coincide we can all get through this. I wear a mask wherever I go and if a business chooses to require one I have no problem with abiding. I have been lucky enough to get through a full year of the pandemic without contracting the virus and will continue my habits to hopefully keep it that way!

And my awesome Robert Smith masks get noticed and appreciated! :)

You know you're a Cure fan when you have to go to the hospital emergency department and your husband compares with you which you think is the best Cure song to listen to for that occasion.  I picked Plainsong, the live version with the low-down bass, because it's so calming.  Brett picked One Hundred Years because of its opening line, and he said, "This song has so many applications!"

Was talking to a person from Vietnam today re mask acceptance in Western society (something our cultures are having to learn, but Asian cultures already have it from dealing with SARS-1 etc, plus use masks as a courtesy to protect others when they have common colds, instead of generously spreading their contagious illnesses around like people in the West tend to do...).

She said that at the start of the pandemic it was strange for her in Perth because she wanted to wear a mask but nobody else was doing it yet, and the officials were discouraging people from doing so because at that stage surgical masks were in short supply and needed for medical staff, and Westerners were new to the idea of sewing fun and effective cloth masks.  But, like a friend of ours originally from Taiwan, she already had a supply of washable fun masks with all sorts of cute motifs like teddy bears or smile emojis.  One very useful thing about those sorts of masks is that they can be really disarming to people not used to mask-wearing, and break the ice a bit.

I imagine the kinds of pushback you'd get from some people in Texas about going around with a mask on would be pretty unpleasant (we saw reports of incidents here :1f635:).  Very cool you're going around with a fun print; and also the choice of print.  I had no idea people were making RS theme fabrics - or did your sister hand-print these?  :cool

My sister actually found the fabric on a website that had several unique fabrics including a 3 Stooges one for my husband. She lives in Indiana and is a dorm parent for international high school students so she has loved using her sewing talents to keep our entire family and her students 'masked up'. More people than I expected recognize who Robert Smith is when I wear them. :)

When you're running your hands through your husband's hair and reciting, "Just because there's snow on the roof doesn't mean the fire's gone out!" ...and he says to you, "But...the fire's nearly out and there's nothing left to burn!"  :winking_tongue
