QuoteIsraelis who dealt with the bodies of victims of Hamas's 7 October attacks on Israel have told British MPs and peers that there was "deliberate, systematic genital mutilation" of female victims and that there was "no question" that some had been sexually assaulted.

Business Secretary and Minister for Women Kemi Badenoch said all the reports must be fully investigated and sexual violence must be condemned. "Rape is not resistance," she stated.

Hamas has denied its gunmen sexually assaulted women during the attacks.

But a senior Israeli police officer said her force had "clear evidence" that rape and other acts of sexual violence had been committed on a scale large enough to define it as a crime against humanity.

Yeah, I agree she should change that sign then... :disappointed:

Someone I've known for a long time (or thought I knew) unexpectedly went out of business ten months ago. As I stood in front of the closed doors, I could just make out a sign stating that the closure would only be for one year. I then involuntarily went to the shop where the person once did her training and her master's degree. I'm not really happy there. I get "passed around" and pay a third more. They're friendly, but I'm not really welcome. The store is just too "elitist" for me. I am disappointed because she was always focused on her work and nothing else. She vehemently denied any desire to have children if we ever discussed it. Now I met her today with her almost one-year-old son and found out that she will not be returning to her job. Her only employee is in retraining - what, I didn't want to ask. I'm really disappointed because she could and should have communicated it better, especially since she shares her private happiness with others on social media, but not her true motives and intentions.  :?

Some time ago I wrote about the new fiber optic network and the aggressive advertising that accompanied it. Although our house wasn't supposed to have a connection - the landlord and the majority of residents were against it - only one tenant has now ordered one for his apartment. The work on this is imminent. The line has been in front of the house since last year. It's just strange that all "old" tenants will have to accept a moderate rent increase from March 1st. Now I've been paying a little more in additional costs since last year, and the tenant in question is paying more anyway because he moved in later, but what bothers me is that I can no longer rely on verbal promises from the landlord - and that after 17 years! Now I don't want to join the German Tenants' Association again. I just left a month ago. In addition, the resident in question owns property in his home country and may receive income from rentals, meaning he can afford a fiber optic connection. There is still radio silence. No note on the door etc. To be continued. :1f636:
