For me normally "DOING THE UNSTUCK" but after the disappointment from the live experience March 14th in Belgium, (I was away to far from the stage and I had not the feeling that I was there  :()even this song couldn't makes my happy  :smth011

Happy I went to Rotterdam 18th of march and now it's back my song for the worst days of my live  :!:

it's curious how some songs can work so differently with different people. i can never think of 'doing the unstuck' as a happy-happy song. it's a very emotional one for sure, but for me  it's a song you sing as your "very last thing you ever do", before you choose to go out with a big bang or something.
being thus it's a "huge" song... but somehow scary. even somehow desperate - but in a "i'm dead anyway so why worry?" kind of a way.

*edit: i just realized i've talked about this somewhere else in a forum so i'm probably just repeating myself here. anyway, was reminded by it because i was just listening to this song - and feeling just as "on the edge" about it as always before. myself i cannot sense any real pure & simple happiness in the song. the feeling of some kind of ultimate relief of giving up on everything is what gets closest to that...
but not happiness.
anyway just strange how the same songs can work/affect us so differently!

I'm always happy when I hear the Cure, but with "doing the unstuck" I meant this song really helps me when I feeling down // it's like the music and Roberts voice say something like "come on, go further, ..." Than I think, ok it's true and than I feeling much better. (But with everything not all the people have the same feelings with the same song :-)) BTW here the lyrics I love it.

"Doing The Unstuck"

it's a perfect day for letting go
for setting fire to bridges
boats
and other dreary worlds you know
let's get happy!
it's a perfect day for making out
to wake up with a smile without a doubt
to burst grin giggle bliss skip jump and sing and shout
let's get happy!

but it's much to late you say
for doing this now
we should have done it then
well it just goes to show
how wrong you can be
and how you really should know
that it's never too late
to get up and go

it's a perfect day for kiss and swell
for rip-zipping button-popping kiss and well...
there's loads of other stuff can make you yell
let's get happy!
it's a perfect day for doing the unstuck
for dancing like you can't hear the beat
and you don't give a further thought
to things like feet
let's get happy!

but it's much too late you say
for doing this now
we should have done it then
well it just goes to show
how wrong you can be
and how you really should know
that it's never to late
to get up and go

kick out the gloom
kick out the blues
tear out the pages with all the bad news
pull down the mirrors and pull down the walls
tear up the stairs and tear up the floors
oh just burn down the house!
burn down the street!
turn everything red and the beat is complete
with the sound of your world
going up in fire
it's a perfect day to throw back your head
and kiss it all goodbye

it's a perfect day for getting old
forgetting all your worries
life
and everything that makes you cry
let's get happy!
it's a perfect day for dreams come true
for thinking big
and doing anything you want to do
let's get happy!

but it's much to late you say
for doing this now
we should have done it then
well it just goes to show
how wrong you can be
and how you really should know
that it's never too late
to get up and go

kick out the gloom
kick out the blues
tear out the pages with all the bad news
pull down the mirrors and pull down the walls
tear up the stairs and tear up the floors
oh just burn down the house!
burn down the street!
turn everything red and the dream is complete
with the sound of your world
going up in fire
it's a perfect day to throw back your head
and kiss it all goodbye

i've always found these ending lines quite shocking, actually. they always set real shivers across my back rather than make me happy.
because... now there's a guy who's thrilled about hearing the sound of the world going up in fire and kissing it all goodbye...
i find that quite scary.
what sort of person can really say that? somebody who has nothing left to lose and who doesn't give a damn about anything, anymore. it's a scary kind of violent courage... a person who's not afraid of anything, not even his own destruction. for me it's a song about permanent end of things, THE end. and that's a scary thing...

anyway, i suppose there's often something in complete psychopaths that you can admire: their absolute straightforwardness and lack of fear (even fear of their own destruction).
i suppose that's what i can admire in the protagonist in 'doing the unstuck'.
sometimes i do wish i could be like that, just burn it all down. and really NOT coming back next day and saying "ok i was just kidding, it was just a bit of fun".
