Perry Bamonte is officially back in The Cure

The band's official website now confirms Perry has returned to the band:

In September 2022 the band reconvened for rehearsals, and set off in October for the 10 week European leg of their Shows Of A Lost World Tour, with support once again from The Twilight Sad. Returning after 17 years, Perry Bamonte rejoined The Cure on guitar and keyboards for all 46 sold out concerts, culminating in another 3 fabulous nights at SSE Arena Wembley London.

Both Bamonte and O'Donnell were let go from the band in 2005. Perry wrote this back then:

I'm really overwhelmed by the amount of fans who have written to me and you and to all the Cure websites - I never knew I had that much of an impact or how important a part of The Cure I was for so many people. Please pass on my thanks to everyone for their suport and compliments and their best wishes for my future. I wish the band well and bear no grudge. I have no definite plans at this time but will inform you if I become involved in any other projects. Once again - Thank You!

Might be negative, but I am reading it as he is a touring musician, and not a member of the band. He is still not in any official photos. The needed another guitar for the live show and called him.

Good point, let's see what happens next year, I would be very surprised if the band does not tour Australia.

Well, I have to admit I don't see many "official" photos anyway (where do the band publish those?)...

But Perry has been on stage with what is named "The Cure" on posters and tickets at every concert since the tour started in '22, to me that is "official" enough.
