PLEASE ADD ME! I WON'T BITE!

myspace.com/icodecure

The "icode" is short for Invulnerable Code...a band my school friend wants me to be in (he got me the account in the first place, so it was his decision to name it that)

Steve

I have a myspam account to, but I have no idea what to do with it.
As far as I'm concerned it's a load of crap.
So far I have had 14 offers to be friends from amatuer porn sites
I only registered to contact traders who only communicated through myspam.
If you want to make friends & chat to people, there's e mail, IM, this forum, or (getting a bit contraversial now) the real world.
I don't know where people find the time to fill up their myspam pages with all that junk.
Cheers
Steve

The real world is shit.  I've given up on it.

And thanks to myspam, as you call it, I have met some lovely folks including Eden and Lily Gallup. And have been introduced to Eden's wonderful band Violet Vendetta (the kid is a music prodigy.  I swear.  The way he plays guitar it's hard to believe he's only 17). Along with another great band--The Chaste (who's debut album "One Year" should be out this fall! :smth001).  Myspace is a nice place to be introduced to new bands and if you happen to find someone with the same interests as you, then that's cool.  And I do admit, a large chunk of those listed as my "friends" I have no clue who they are.  But I find it humbling that they'd take the time to add little ol' me.  And if we never message eachother or post comments or even send birthday greetings, atleast we know that we are not alone in what we like.  Believe me, it's nice to know I'm not the only Simon fan out there! ;)

It's also a great place for my best bud to share his music with others:

i have to agree with pretty much everything here.
also, i have to say that i personally have some rather bad experinces of myspam too. long ago i used to have an account and i even went through some trouble to keep a somewhat decorated site up there - we had a rather nice little community of people there. i'd say. then a few "nice" people who obviously saw lots of fun in infiltrating as "friends" pretty much messed it all up (like Siouxsie_ said "trouble with creepy people" - there are some real wackos there too for sure). so i just can't think it's such a "happy-land" anymore. now ok, please no-one get me wrong: if someone here enjoys it, then that's perfectly ok with me. i'm not saying "f*ck myspam" or anything. and i sincerely do hope you don't ever run into such dickheads as i did(!). it's just that i don't have an illusion of it being such a great place only. i've also grown tired of the idea that i'd need to keep up some kind of display of myself there on my site - i just don't have time for that. or maybe i'm not extrovert enough, to ever really enjoy it anyway. anyway.
the most important reason i don't need that site for anything much (other than contacting some people who strangely do all their messaging via myspam, like steve said) is that i just simply do enjoy forums a lot more anyway. simply because on forums you can discuss with lots of people at the same time, there's more life around you and discussions are open for a lot of people to come and join. so on forums you don't feel isolated, sitting on your own little island with only personal pms as an ally - as it is in myspace.
anyway, just my personal experiences/thoughs.

On the upside.
If I maintain my account (a blank page with a picture of a dalek) & the cure do another secret gig in Europe, then I might be in with a chance to get a ticket.
:-D
Cheers

Cure Freak

I met my BF on myspace. Whom, is, also an artist. And numerous  other artists and Cure fans.
I think it's great.

silversand

I like myspace, it's a good thing  :)
When i decided to make an myspace account, i put it on private.
One of the reasons were the spammers and the so called creepy people like Siouxsie_ has mentioned.

Janko

Fatter than Bob, balder than Porl, as sober as Simon, as amusing as Jason

You seem really cool...I can tell just by what you said there.
Yes, the real world sucks nowadays...
Your friend has amazing music...sounds very much Cure-influenced...I'm talking about the Thunderclouds.
Internet friends differ in the fact that they can't judge you on your appearance, and usually all share one common interest which brings them together in the first place, such as a favorite band, a favorite movie, or a favorite sports team (I'm not a sports guy myself)

And you can add another Simon fan to your list: Me! ;)

He's influenced by the Cure and Simon. :smth001  He used to play drums in a New Zealand based band called Growler.  Dunno if anyone knows them here.

Carnage Visor

And you say he plays that music himself? It's really good!

iwannashagsimon

Yup.  All him.  I've been asking him for years to send me his demos, but he was so afraid I wouldn't like them.  Ugh!  Musicians! ;)

I've been trying to get him to send me some for 4 years!

If you really like his work, send him a message.  I'm sure he will appreciate it.  :smth001

But I think I get a bit confused, am I seducing or being seduced?
