Here goes one: Lima, one of the cities with the world's worst traffic, is finally embracing the bicycle as a sustainable way of transport. It was about time! Let's see how adoption is in one year's time...

Another one: stupid people who used to go sick to work (e.g. when having a cold) will be looked very bad from now onward!

Yes!  Hooray!

I also quite like the fact that people are learning to be more polite when in public places, about other people's personal space - they are learning not to just squash past people, but to stop and consider the other person.  Hopefully at least some of this will stay with them.

And I think it's unlikely anyone is going to be handing their baby over to a politician to kiss for a publicity shot anytime soon.

If I'm deadly serious and talking about the bigger picture... well, we're actually finding ourselves happy that a pandemic is bringing this juggernaut of ridiculousness that's our economy to a halt, because it means that there is at least a faint possibility that economies will become more fair and sensible, and more environmentally, socially and animal-friendly, now that we've all got time to think about it, and now that the inevitable outcomes of ridiculous policies make themselves acutely felt. This is not to dismiss the deaths and sufferings of many in this pandemic, but to point to the deaths and sufferings of many in business-as-usual, who usually get forgotten as the juggernaut sweeps on. If we do the right things now, then the deaths and sufferings of people due to the pandemic will at least result in less deaths and suffering down the track than there would have been had we not had a pandemic.

The tail has been wagging the dog for a long time.  That really needs to change...

...and it's so much easier to change the direction of something when it's limping along, than when it's doing a hundred miles an hour and running over everyone...

A community is a real and substantial thing - not just the servant of an abstract idea called an economy.  People matter, other species matter, the planet matters, and political and economic systems that do harm to people, other species, and the planet we live on need to be replaced with something that doesn't cause tons of harm just to enrich a few members of just one species on this planet...

So use your voices; in our lifetimes it will be unlikely to ever matter more than it does right now...
