Title: Sadacic: Demo to "New Day" or to "Prayers for Rain"?
Post by: Fantac on May 26, 2008, 03:14:25
Hey again,

Just curious if anyone ever noticed that the demo "Sadacic" on the second CD of the remastered edition of The Top contains the musical phrase of "Prayers for Rain"? Unless I'm imagining things, the bass that starts about 40 seconds into the demo clearly recalls the opening guitar notes of "Prayers for Rain". Just thought it was interesting...

This tells me that Robert probably revisited a song that was written 5 years earlier to inspire a new one. I wonder if this has been or is a common thing for him...

Hadn't really noticed to tell you the truth.  I'll have to go back now and listen to it a little more closely.  "Sadacic" was one of the prize discoveries for me from the deluxe remastered edition.  Love it.

Well Robert's solo album was supposed to be called Wild mood swings.
And High was supposed to be called Anniversary...
So Robert has plenty of old ideas that he just uses sooner or later...
