Title: Robert Smith on "Hey Duggee"
Post by: Ulrich on June 15, 2020, 09:20:42
The Cure posted this on FB:
QuoteHey Duggee (Series 3) kicks off with 'The Mixtape Badge' airing in the UK on CBeebies Monday 15th June at 7:15am BST and BBC iPlayer

This left me puzzled, so I googled a bit and found this:

QuoteBrand new episodes of Hey Duggee (series three) premiere on CBeebies from 15 June and are filled with laughter, learning and exciting activities at The Squirrel Club, as well as more subtle cultural references for parents to enjoy!
The fresh batch of episodes kick off with The Mixtape Badge, which includes some well-known sounds and faces from the music world. The Cure's Robert Smith, jazz saxophonist Ornette Coleman, David Bowie, Bjork, Kendrick Lamar and Orbital are among the artists that parents of little ones may recognise.

In The Mixtape Badge, the Squirrels find an old mix tape of Duggee's. At first they don't know what a cassette tape is and try to swipe it like a tablet! But Duggee plays it for them on an old cassette tape player. The music they hear is really sad and arty - it's from Duggee's serious musician phase! The Squirrels decide to make a tape for Duggee full of happy songs that remind them of special days they've spent together.
