Title: Slowdive's Nick Chaplin dressed as The Cure's Simon Gallup
Post by: dsanchez on October 31, 2017, 21:58:56
Nick Chaplin, is known to be a huge The Cure fan (and particularly, a Simon's fan!). In Slowdive shows, Chaplin uses the iconic Music Man StingRay (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Man_StingRay) (used by Gallup between 1985-1987) and more recently also the Gibson Thunderbird (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibson_Thunderbird) (used by Gallup 2005 onwards)

Yesterday during a show in the Mojave desert (http://slowdivedatabase.com/concert/30th-october-2017-pioneertown-ca-pappy-harriets) (a day before of Halloween, which as you know is celebrated a lot in the US) Chaplin dressed up on stage as Simon Gallup. He wrote on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/Ba6vlPgHdWn/?taken-by=hollywooduk11): "finally achieved my lifetime ambition last night and had an actual reason to pretend I was #simongallup on stage. My band mates said it was no different to any other night"

For someone like me who loves both The Cure and Slowdive equally, seeing Nick dressed like Simon was  :smth023
