If you go sometimes to some disco in your city, what Cure song/s they use to play?

In most new wave discos in Lima they only play:

Just like heaven, In between days, Close to me, Boys don't cry, Play for today, Friday I'm in love, A forest, Primary.

I hardly remember they have played anything else (with the exception of a rare Cure special, of course). Is the situation different in your town?

It is an achievement to get a club/disco/bar where there will be any possibility of them playing The Cure.

But when you(I) do find it it is always the 'safe' options you mentioned above with the other possible and most likely being Lovecats.

On a 'regular' night Just Like Heaven, In Between Days, Close To Me, Boys Don't Cry, Friday I'm In Love, Lovecats or A Forest(If your really lucky) are the only possibilities.  And most of these times the only reason I've even heard these is because I've been hounding the DJ about it all night.

Having said that at a recent couple of new wave/80s nights the DJ did play both Lets Go To Bed and The Walk which although still 'hits' was different.

Also the last couple of years it has became more popular for members from bands to appear as DJs which sometimes can result in better tastes.  This was the case when I seen the band 'Mystery Jets' do such a set with 'I Want To Be Old' which was quite something but not typical or common

Boys Don't Cry and Friday I'm in Love. always. It's quite annoying because Cure have so many good songs and these ignorants will only play two.

i went to a hole-in-the-wall punk rock/goth bar called johnny's that i recently found out about. granted, i was wearing flip flops and a quiksilver t-shirt, but i went to the juke box and to my surprise, there was a best of cure album next to a circle jerks disc. of course, i had to play close to me, and even more surprising, most people knew the song and started to sing along with me.  :D

there used to be a great goth club here in new york (albion) where we could dance to disintegration, from the edge of a deep green sea, burn, or like cockatoos. also the great night 'factory' at kulturfabrik moabit in berlin they play some non hits like grinding halt, killing an arab, or 100 years ...

now that would be fun. i might have to dress the part for that club. a few years ago i went to a club in LA called clockwork orange, which was separated in to three different sections: 80's, industrial, and trance/house. i remember hearing a lot of the cure in the 80's section.  :smth023

I frequent a club I love to go to in Hobart called the Coven. It's only open for one or two nights per month and I always try to get there as they play The Cure!! HAHAHA, I even was lucky enough to have a 30min slot to play my tunes. I loved to hear my shit LOUD!! I picked Doubt, other DJs have played some Cure but I can't recall what they were now. I have met a few Cure-ites there and its always nice to meet other Cure fans and have a chat about fav songs etc etc... They play a lot of Industrial as well which I am becoming a huge fan of these days! I guess I'm evolving yet again in my tastes LOL. Plus I just adore the whole dressin up of it, It makes it a real night out for me... And it really is as it takes me three hours drive to go hahaha!! Gotta love the people that organize these nights out for people like me to enjoy.

Well, across the years the songs I've heard in discos/clubs/bars have been the usual suspects: 'Close to Me', 'The Lovecats', and also 'In Between Days', 'Just Like Heaven', 'Boys Don't Cry' and 'Friday I'm in Love'. More rarely 'A Forest'. No surprises here.

But.. there used to be a disco a few years ago where I sometimes went and they always used to play 'Play for Today'. That's a bit more unusual.

And perhaps more surprising, there's a pub/bar I usually go to these days where they play The Cure quite a lot. And not exactly what you'd expect, either. What they play the most is the 'Join the Dots' compilation (the 3rd CD). And recently they played the 'Pornography' (!) and 'Disintegration' (!) albums from beginning to end. That was something of an experience...
