regrets
« on: September 25, 2012, 13:08:18 »
ciao david
don't know if this is the right place, anyway...

another tour is over, and nobody knows if there will be another one, so i was thinking about regrets about all gigs i saw and my cure life. so these are my regrets:
i never listened figurehead holy hour and other voices live
i never met anyone of the band, no photo or autographs
i missed the cure in ginevra airport, they were at the gate next to mine and i didn't notice ...
i didn't attend more than one show in 92 - no money, 96 98 and 2000 - my son too young  :-D
i could not go to 2002 show in conegliano because...i didn't know about it  :smth011

but i'm happy for:
faith in roma 89
one more time in roma 87
paris 2008
lisbona 2012
all the beautiful people i met in these years - love you all  :smth023
the cancelled siouxsie show in florence 85 - the same day the cure played in viareggio, 100 km from florence so i went. my first cure show

and of course THE CURE for changing my life

grazie a tutti
Marco

Well, we shouldn't regret about things we did or we did not, but then again we finally regret :P

There's one thing I regret very much. I think you all will want to kill me because if you were in my shoes you would have taken a better decision!

In 2002 I went to study in Belgium for a few months (first time I was outside Peru for a long time). At that time, The Cure announced the Hamburg gig in November, and shortly after the Trilogy concerts in Brussels (!) and Berlin.

I already had the ticket for Hamburg and I didn't have much money. The trip to Hamburg and all was expensive and I told myself "well, I better go just to Hamburg". I was living in Namur, just 45 minutes away from Brusells where the band played for the first time the Trilogy shows. I didn't go :?

The Hamburg show was one of the highlights of my life. I remember telling a friend shortly after "I could die right now". I thought for a moment to travel to Berlin for the two remaining Trilogy shows, but I had to be back in Namur for my studies.

Because of this huge mistake, I didn't think twice when The Cure decided to play in London last year. A double mistake would be unforgivable!

You guys are so fortunate to have seen The Cure, I haven't had the chance [money] to even do it! Maybe if they go to South America next year I'll try my best to catch on although is quite expensive... But I promised myself to do everything I can, I'm afraid they'll stop touring and that'll be that...  Are you still in Peru?

I am in Slovakia now, but I was planning to go to Peru for a few weeks next year. So my trip depends on Bob in this moment lol. If they go in April, that would be great because from January to May/June there are good deals to travel to South America from Europe (I went to Lima last year from Madrid and the round trip ticket was 600 EUR, direct flight). It would be even better if they decide to play in February (Summer in South America and Winter in Europe). We will see.
