I DISCOVERED DANSE SOCIETY ON "GOTHIC ROCK VOL. 1" ("WE'RE SO HAPPY" GREAT SONG!) JUST A FEW YEARS AGO...

I LOVE THE SONG!

REALLY HARD TO FIND STUFF! THEIR ALBUMS AND SINGLES THAT IS...

PS

THERE'S ALSO A BAND CALLED PERFIDOUS WORDS THAT I REALLY LIKE ALTHOUGH THEY ARE MORE LIKE DEPECHE MODE
Fatter than Bob, balder than Porl, as sober as Simon, as amusing as Jason

he here's proof that one can't talk about new order and the cure even on a same day:

the cure never made a video/performed in a baywatch set with david hasselhoff hanging on the background.
even if it was supposed to be ironic it's...

Hahaha. No kidding.

by the way, i bloody hate that song. it's exactly the type of NO stuff that i can't stand, that i think is totally meaningless musical nonsense. there's simply nothing in it, sorry.
so actually that utterly meaningless baywatch set sort of suits it pretty well, i think. :smth023

Wow, I really regret watching that.

It was nice of Hasslehoff to show up near the end to rescue those poor people.

i'm almost bound to think that the great hoff is the best thing on that video - and that says a lot! *scary*

the Cure sound in New Order is so dated + dead boring to be honest... as everyone knows without Joy Division The Cure would have never went into a certain direction. Both great bands with a distinctive sound - and to all those experts, the Baywatch appearance was a taking the piss out thing for BBC Top Of The Pops, shows they don't take themselves serious at all. brilliant band - brilliant attitude!
can't really see that Indochine/Cure thing - they were both massive in the 80es in France, of course + Indo has even covered Just Like Heaven, the comment on the band here seems to be from very far...
The Mission-wise, hehe good old Wayne (can't wait for the new album, should be excellent), if it comes to The Cure sounds, try to listen to 'Melt' (Evangeline MCD or Aura Delight CD), quite a bit 'Apart' influenced.

**Shout Out Louds**

Their album 'Our Ill Wills' sounds a lot like The Cure.

The opening song, 'tonight i have to leave' reminds me of 'inbetween days'.

Check it out, it may take you back to 1985!

Janko

I HEARD THAT SHOUT OUT LOUDS SOUND LIKE THE CURE TOO

BUT I NEVER HEARD THEIR ALBUMS...

Carnage Visor

The Cocteau Twins "Garlands" is an amazing emulation of the darker Cure sound. Also, a few songs by the band The Chameleons have a similar sound, similar basslines, and a dreamy setting.

Very true Carnage Visor. Cocteau Twins are my second favourite band.

They are amazing!!!!

At the moment I'm listening to The Daysleepers song "Loved By The Sun" you should check it out. Apparently Lol Tolhurst is a big fan of The Daysleepers, they are so lovely. They have a lot of songs to listen to on their myspace page.

New Order stole the chord progression and melody from "Inbetween Days" for a song who's title I can't remember (such is my love for that band ).

The song you're thinking of is Dreams Never End, and I've just found out that it's from an album (Movement) which was released four years before The Head on The Door, where, as far as I know, In Between Days made its first appearance...

  :smth009  :smth100

Say it isn't so...
