yeah i noticed that the first time i saw the movie.
i just finished reading the last book last week.they are some of my favorites by far. and the movie does a fantastic job. i love the actress!!!

Bummer.  Clearing way for a new development?  Sometimes I wish new construction would go and down up instead of out.

no, no development plans this time. this place is quite far from everything like that, very few people even live in the area.
it's just people turning forests to money, clearing out the trees and leaving a complete war zone behind, it looks like the area was bombed or something :( - it'll take more than a lifetime for the forest to renew itself.
the finnish word for forestry is "forest care" - some damn care. :roll:
