Sorry, it's a figure of speech and just my boyfriend's sense of humor. He waited until I was a bit tipsy to tell me about the tickets and sooooo shouldn't have let me on the computer :). I realized when I got a response, 'Oh crap! I can't believe I put that on there!'
how early should I get to the venhue & where is the most atmospheric pub nearby

Are you talking about the AAC? I can't quite tell, plus noone in Texas calls it a pub (unless you are an army brat like me), so I have to ask. :)
Flying in from Minneapolis with my wife for her first cure concert ever. Should be fun and can't wait!
army brat not I
so... I heard it was a searing 97 yesterday in Dallas something like 9 degrees above their average
tell me they are not going to play Hot Hot Hot

I'm flying through MSP today on a 9:30am flight to DFW!
Made it to Dallas and checked in to my hotel, where I think I will be sitting for a while. It is miserable outside...hot and humid. Yuck :smth096 :smth076
Let's hope Robert's got his industrial hold hairspray with him then. ;)
I'd take hot and humid over cold and wet. It's been raining in Seattle since I touched down at the airport.
Hot and humid is where I thrive! Although flying back here from a cool grey day in San Diego to find out it's in the 90s was kind of a shock. Walking off the plane was like getting slapped in the face with a hot wet blanket.
I remember after Curiosa in Nashville I talked to Simon and he said he thought it was really hot that night, and it was actually a fairly mild summer evening here that day...I hope the band is prepared for what's about to hit them!
Curfew tonight is 11:30
How was the show j? Did anyone go besides j? Any pictures or reviews? The set-list was good but nothing different. :-D
met up w/ JoeFrog outside and Veronica inside that was chill and rad the same

Do NOT ask the 1st Indian Kapalo taxi driver ref from that green-logo-ed car rental agency you see what is cool in town here either
I'll definatly have to travel to another city to see The Cure. I'll miss JoeFrog & felt a wee bit sad that we may never meet again
;) :(
Fascination Street,
I called it 6 songs early but super tight as well and worth the wait made up for the $100 quid taxi rides to & fro DAL
The Perfect Boy,
worth the plane ride wished I had'nt drank those 6 brew ha ha's this is a great time but I'm piss'd
From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea,
oh shit, I just thought I seen Simon almost trip and fall but not enough time changes for me will never match the Curiousa TPA version - IMHO
Sleep When I'm Dead,
somehow I cant remember this as the highlight but I was pogo-ing around senslessly. probably a grower always love the songs I never heard live Porl's frame and the whole show w/ light and thanks to everyone of the roadies and fans there. I'm doing 360's.

I could have just heard Simon thrashing on the bass & 65 Days of Static (who tore it up equally and I liked alot to in bunchness of amounts galore) return to the stage and maybe play and afterhours thrash guitar music / club Robert Porl DJ mash up thing but I gues we'll have to wait until 2020 or something
...
no pics for some reason too
It was up there but kinda rates like Wish tour for me - IMHO
so, If I'd rate all of my past Cure shows this was like
uh, #6 or #5 and lower end of the bracket sorry but
It was great to see them live again (saw them in 1997 and 2002). It was my first time to see them in such a large venue, but at least I had 8th row floor seats. Turning around and looking at the thousands of people behind me between encores was just an incredible feeling! Had friends that were in a suite, but I was very glad to have company on the floor and be part of the sea of people instead of seemingly watching it on TV! They even left a little after 10 to catch the last scheduled train (even though there is another train 20 minutes after the event) and they freaked out when I called them the next day and told them how they left before they were half way done! It was an incredible time, I loved the number of songs from Boys Don't Cry (I'm an older fan :) ). Hope you guys visiting Dallas don't let the heat keep you from coming back, it's more humid the further South you go! LOL!!!
My boyfriend and I got some pictures and video on our cellphones. My boyfriend's favorite song is Wrong Number, but he calls it Best Laid Plans :)) and he got a great clip of Robert's 'trip to the moon'. None of it is Youtube quality I'm sure, but we have a huge Cure Concert 08 photo and video clip file!
Now the impatience of the CD release replaces the countdown to the show!
Anybody got a recording of the show? video or audio
I seem to fail miserably when i try to find these things
I cant seem to find concert recordings either.
Boo.
JTD
Look in the audio section on this forum.... :smth023
Thanks Giuseppe Eisonhawk & shel1971 for the reviews! Glad you both had a great time! :D
J thanks for the audio, I'll check it out in that forum.
I'm all for contributing, kind off secretive, I like it.
I guess i could start by sharing my cool picture i took at the show.
The rest are blurry because someone was a bit too close to the beer stand and the guys refused to pose for me and kept moving.

You know I wish I could post the pics/video I took. But stupid me didnt check with the venue (I was at the San jose show) They allowed cameras with up to a 6" lens in the show. I only brought my stupid camera phone. I have pics of a bright spot and some lights. and video of something that sounds like the cure in a wind tunnel.
I got some pics/video but they are at home, I'll try to upload them tonight, even if blurry at least they are something

Thanks for the pic. Would you be able to upload your pics to the gallery?
http://curefans.com/index.php/v/live/2008/northamericantour/?action=gallery
Choose whichever show (in this case Dallas), then add image from the drop down box at the bottom. Thanks!
I added the pic to the gallery, will add the rest of them if I see they are decent enough tonight when I get home.
I added a few more shots I took
Hope people enjoy them.

I can't find it

Was anyone able to find audio on the Dallas show? I saw this show as a birthday present from boyfriend and I'd love to have the audio or video as a keep sake. We had such a wonderful night and The Cure sounded awesome. Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
