Here are two links to Last.fm of tracks that I feel have the same kind of sound as The Cure (with a little more electronics thrown in for a more contemporary sound).
Listen to the tracks from start to finish (as the second one takes a while to get where it's going).

Manual - Clear Skies Above The Coastline Cathedral

Syntaks - Stars Fell On The Shore

Enjoy.

Post songs that are similar to The Cure songs...

This one is actually the otherwise. "Hungry ghost" very similar to Ride's "Vapour Trail"

A hugely famous song in Russia, more or less a reworking of In Your House off Seventeen Seconds. Viktor Tsoi was a major Curehead.

nerdiee

uhm.. if you decide to listen to Russian rock and post-punk of the 90s, you will definitely stumble upon  the cure XD
there is enough plagiarism there, but the main groups that were very inspired by The Cure - "Агата Кристи" and "Кино"
the first group decided to openly copy the"image" of "Disintegration" and even stole a guitar break of "fascination street" for some song .. I don't remember which one

and even in their youth,"Agatha Christie" frontmen tried to look like Robert Smith - but thin Robert Smith ahah
but they didn't put on makeup or do crazy hairstyles, they just wimps
and at the expense of group"Кино", their soloist and frontman, Viktor Tsoi, was clearly inspired by the album "seventeen seconds" ... and this is sooooo heard and seen, so much so that it can be declared plagiarism

oh, another interesting thing, we also have a Russian version of "Kyoto song"
it was "quailed" by the group "АлисА" and called the "shadow theater" ... but they made a reference to the original, so everything is in order

in short, as you can see, we in Russia love The Cure very much XD
teach me how to swim at the same deep water as you
