Plugin for Winamp:
http://www.etree.org/shnamp.html
David.
Or convert it to FLAC:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com
Just two clicks, and free up some hard drive space. 8)
For converting i use UniversalFront
http://www.boereck.de/unifront/download.html
I don´t know what others think about it or if it´s as good as dbPoweramp but it´s scriptable and very easy to use.

Both SHN and FLAC are lossless.
There is NO loss in quality from converting between the two! :smth023
Caley, I owe you one. I've hated the .shn format FOREVER (mostly because I could never get it to decode properly). Now that I heard about this dBpoweramp I'm psyched... and yes, I know this sounded like an infommerical. :D

Yes you can. :D
First, get this:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com
Then download and install both the FLAC and SHN plugins for it.
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codecs-new/dBpoweramp-Codec-FLAC.exe
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/beta/dBpo...dec-Shorten.exe
That's it!
Or an alternative... try foobar2000 & SHN plugin.
foobar2000 - a nice and simple media player that supports most audio formats, including Flac: http://www.foobar2000.org/
foo_input_shorten: http://foosion.foobar2000.org/0.9/#stable
install foobar2000, unzip the plugin and place the foo_input_shorten.dll in the components folder to the Program files/foobar2000/components folder.
You can now playback SHN files or convert to flac (before that you may want to change the compression level of flac to level 8 in the preferences).

I know a free SHN Player named Faasoft SHN Converter which aims to convert SHN files to many other popular formats like MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, AC3, M4A, etc, but it also supports playing SHN files on both Mac and Windows.
If you want to play SHN files on iTunes, iPhone, iPad, Android, iMovie, QuickTime, Xbox, PS3, BlackBerry, etc, you'd better to visit this step by step guide to convert SHN files (http://www.faasoft.com/articles/shn-converter-mac-and-windows.html).
Hope it can help you more or less.
