Universal Music confirms that the new album delayed officially 2007...
no news if it'll be a double or a single album...

crowbi_wan

is anyone surprised by this?  robert's birthday, holloween, 2007, 2008, after all of the remasters have been issued...sigh.

boneheadhaggar

it is a real shame, but it always looked likely that this would happen :?
its nice to be nice

[labyrinth]

yes of course...
anyway it's always the same  :-D
we know Robert..let's hope only it won't be delayed again...

nausearockpig

yeah let's hold our collective breaths and see what happens.... :-D

I had no doubt on the delaying of the new album... now I really hope that the year of issue will be 2007!!!

All that matters is the new album and that the new songs are great!

It should be interesting to hear it now that Porl is back in the band too.

[labyrinth]

we're again in the 3/4 years space time that The Cure use to make a new record...
as said before...the "most important thing" is the quality of the new record...
but i'm hopeful, because i adore Porl and his creativity...so let's wait and see..

Perhaps interesting to note that The Cure's most successful years correspond exactly to the years that Porl was in the band, and that all the albums he played on were huge commercial successes.

Just saying it would be nice to see them have another "smash hit".

[labyrinth]

and i would add , also the best tour are with Porl except for WMS tour ;)

nope...
i mean...
the best tours are with porl
but also the WMS tour (in my opinion one of thei best, too) was great, even without him !

Hopefully, it'll be a single, with the same songs on each version of the record.  I agree that it would be really nice for The Cure to have another big hit but so many Cure fans have already decided that they're not going to like it based, it seems, on a series of festival shows where no new material was played!  If we don't trust Robert's judgement, how can we expect the record label to spend the money that it takes to get a single played on the radio?

I've also read that the record will have keyboards, but they'll be played by Porl and Robert.
