In a newsletter sent to fans suscribed to thecure.com, Robert Smith wrote "THANK YOU AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO CAME TO SEE OUR 2022 EUROPEAN SHOWS - IT WAS A GREAT TRIP! 2023 NEWS IS IMMINENT..."

I would expect the news to be announced this month...

A spelling mistake crept into the title, dear admin.  :1f636:
En cette nation [Russie] qui n'a pas eu de théoriciens et de démagogues,
les pires ferments de destruction ont apparu. (J. Péladan)

When Robert says "imminent" in February, I'd normally expect it to be December!  XD  :D

But seeing it is about 2023 tour dates, it should be soon(ish).  :cool

QuoteThe Cure have said that tickets for their North American tour will not be "transferable".

With ticket registration for the tour opening today (March 10), the band made the announcement about tickets not being transferable, with a view to minimise "resale and keep prices at face value".

Sharing a statement on their social media, the band wrote: "If something comes up that prevents a fan from being able to use a ticket they have purchased, they will be able [to] resell it on a face value ticket exchange."

In an email to fans, Robert Smith vowed to keep ticket prices reasonable, writing: "THE CURE HAVE AGREED ALL TICKET PRICES, AND APART FROM A FEW HOLLYWOOD BOWL CHARITY SEATS, THERE WILL BE NO 'PLATINUM' OR 'DYNAMICALLY PRICED' TICKETS ON THIS TOUR."

QuoteThe Cure's Robert Smith has elaborated on the band's decision to partner with Ticketmaster for the "non-transferable" ticketing strategy for their upcoming North American tour.

Smith then thanked fans for their support before going on to acknowledge "real problems" with the ticketing system. He clarified that the band had "final say" in the tour's ticket price as they "didn't want those prices instantly and horribly distorted by resale," adding that they were told "in North America the resale business is a multi-billion [dollar] industry".

The band were told, Smith said, that Ticketmaster's Verified Fan platform would reduce scalping by 80 per cent and that the platform had been used "more than 400 times to quality buyers".

"We were convinced that Ticketmaster's 'Verified Fan Page' and 'Face Value Ticket Exchange' ideas could help us fight the scalpers," Smith wrote. The Cure did not agree to the system's Dynamic Pricing, Price Surging and Platinum Ticket offerings, he added, "because it is itself a bit of a scam", alluding that further discussion on that would require "a separate conversation".

The ticket saga continues...

QuoteThe Cure frontman Robert Smith took on Ticketmaster and he's getting results.

The lead singer of the new wave band said Ticketmaster will be giving partial refunds after some ticket buyers for his band's US tour were charged more in service fees than for the cost of their seats.

Smith took to Twitter to explain that the lowest-priced seats will get a refund of $10 per ticket. Other ticket buyers will get a $5 refund.

QuoteThe Cure's Shows of a Lost World North American tour was the highest-grossing run of the band's career.

According to Billboard, the outing earned a total of $37.5 million from 547,000 tickets sold. In addition to besting all of The Cure's international tours, that figure is more than double the $18 million Robert Smith and company brought in during their second highest-grossing North American tour, which took place in 2016.
