Whoa, this game is really falling off track.  :eek:

Two Eels songs in a row with no common song title?  :?:

@crowbi: "Just Like You Imagined" - Prepositions really shouldn't be used here.   :smth079

@fiction: Just been meaning to ask, but I don't think The Ramones really spell their name like that?  I know that Motörhead wrote a tribute to them called R.A.M.O.N.E.S., but if I wrote a song called T.H.E. C.U.R.E., I don't think it would change the band's name.  ;)

Anyway, going back a few steps then:

I don't see why you are going back to the post from wish-man?

The rules like David wrote them:

Rules: A poster types a song title and the song's artist. The next poster has to use one word from that song title. Or, duplicate the singer instead, and have no word in common in the song title.[/u]

So I don't see my mistake? I duplicate the singer with no word in common in the song title. It's becaus it's Eels?
I didn't say I liked it  :-D

Nah, it´s basicly because I think it looks cool that way and since I wrote it like that the first time i just keep the fashion going.
again and again and again and again and again and...

Sorry, but I had interpreted the "duplicate the singer" part to only be used for desperate situations, where it would virtually impossible to continue on due to an obscure song name.

Otherwise, one could just continue on with every song ever made by Eels, and then maybe continue on with The Cure, and then perhaps U2, etc.  This could constitute the next 3000 posts or so.  :?

In my opinion, this game should be more challenging than that.

Well, I really do think we need more clarification on the rules. Right now I'm not sure what to do...

Trust...

Sorry, but I still don't see your point, it's not because I choose for the second time Eels that the game is gonna be only with Eels songs  :-D

I took that because I was thinking of that song at that moment and otherwise we had a second in row with the comment word "mental". Even that is boring in my opinion  ;)

If I count all my posts in this topic, I mentioned around 19 different singers or bands.
So what's the problem, I saw also lots off posts with Bon Jovi and The Ramones, So what??

I guess I missed that preposistions can't be used.  But why not?  I can understand banning pronouns and articles or conjunctions, but not being able to use any of these seems a bit strict:

   * aboard
   * about
   * above
   * across
   * after
   * against
   * along
   * amid
   * among
   * anti
   * around
   * as
   * at

   * before
   * behind
   * below
   * beneath
   * beside
   * besides
   * between
   * beyond
   * but
   * by

   * concerning
   * considering

   * despite
   * down
   * during

   * except
   * excepting
   * excluding

   * following
   * for
   * from

   * in
   * inside
   * into

   * like

   * minus

   * near

   * of
   * off
   * on
   * onto
   * opposite
   * outside
   * over

   * past
   * per
   * plus

   * regarding
   * round

   * save
   * since

   * than
   * through
   * to
   * toward
   * towards

   * under
   * underneath
   * unlike
   * until
   * up
   * upon

   * versus
   * via

   * with
   * within
   * without

What's next, adjectives?

Hi Trust, I believe the reason for your error is because you violated the second rule, which I copied and pasted below.

2) One can not use the same word twice in a row (unless it cannot be avoided, for instance with one-word song names)

i dunno, i could be wrong...

dsanchez

I just updated for the second and last time in this year the game rules. I take crowbi_wan suggestion and clarified other rules with examples. Hope is clear now.

Happy New Year everyone!

QuoteRules: A poster types a song title and the song's artist. The next poster has to use one word from that song title or duplicate the singer instead and have no word in common in the song title (use this second rule just in an extreme case, when is too difficult to find a word to propose a new song)

Example:

Poster 1: The Cure - One More Time

Poster 2: Pink Floyd - Time

or

Poster 2: The Cure - Push

Please notice:

1) Articles (a, an, the) and pronouns (he, she, you, they, we, etc.) can not be proposed as a new word for a song's title.

Example:

WRONG

Poster 1: The Cure - The Big Hand

Poster 2: Queen - The Hero

CORRECT

Poster 1: B52'S - Hero Worship

Poster 2: Queen - The Hero

2) Words can not be used twice in a row (unless it cannot be avoided, for instance with one-word song names). Example:

Poster 1: Never enough

Poster 2: Never let me down again

Poster 3: Never ending story

In this case, Poster 3 can NOT use again "Never" because Poster 1 and Poster 2 already did.

Enjoy!
