Nice bunch of titles there. Lots of "THE" though, haha.

Baby Rag Dog Book got a new name I guess :smth023

Did anyone else think of Siouxsie & The Banshees when looking at this list? They had an album called 'The Scream' and also had a song on it called 'Switch'.

Might be released on the "dark" album in 2009? (Or let's say 2012?)

At least this tracklist could be the correct one (I'm guessing).
The holy city breathed like a dying man...

Secrets

Indeed, where is Boy? That was right up there with UTS of the live songs.

Not complaining, just curious.  Seriously jazzing for this record.

It's good to find many unknown songs in there. But at the same time, all the 4 singles are there. And having UTS followed by "The Only One" as opening sequence doesn't sound like a good idea to me... Plus "Freakshow" as 4th track... I hope there are some real good songs in there, but I sincerely doubt that this is going to work as an album.  :?

crowbi_wan

I think it's pretty clear 'Baby Rag Dog Book' is 'It's Over'.  Just listen to the lyrics  ;)

And just like I suspected back in May when RS first mentioned the "Dark album", no 'A Boy I Never Knew'.

Dark album before Robert's birthday?  Hmmm...or on Robert's birthday, which happens to fall on a Tuesday.

So there are only 13 tracks!
Oh, it's ok, as long as the quality-level is as high as The Cure uses to do (and I'm sure about that!!)

Anyway, I'm very happy to see my favourite new song "underneath the stars" in these tracklist! :)

Maybe BRDB got canned?!
Fatter than Bob, balder than Porl, as sober as Simon, as amusing as Jason

KingOfSomeIsland

if it bothers you that certain songs follow each other, buy the CD and put it on "shuffle"in your cd player....  I personally don't see the relevance of having "Freakshow" as the 4th. track, as in why does that matter to you?? But I guess I'm biased because I LOVE "Freakshow"!

You know, it's up to the musicians to come up with a good song-sequence, not to listeners. I know that in this i-Tune days most people don't care about albums and probably don't even know what makes a good album, but I care and I do.

What I meant is that the first 4 songs will not work as a sequence and that is enough to bring the whole album down... That wild-mood-swings or emotional-rollercoaster kind of sequencing songs only works if the songs are really good in themselves, and I don't think that Only One or Freakshow are good enough. Even if that 3rd song proves to be a masterpiece, the feel you get from it will be ruined by having it sandwiched between those 2 not-good-enough songs... At this time in their career The Cure really need to come up with a strong album and all information we have until now seems to indicate we'll be up for another disappointment. That's all.

I always try to look at positive aspects - and as such I pointed out it was good to find many apparently unknown songs on the tracklist - but for now there just aren't many of those. And the cover art is far from brilliant, too. It follows the style of the singles art but it looks a bit tasteless to me...
