Still being fairly new to torrenting & having finally got a dime account I feel a bit like a kid in a sweet shop come the weekends.
I am working on a master of mine right now to try to refine it a little without completely messing it up & am planning to put it on dime.
However, when I download off dime, there is always an MD5 file with the flacs.
Can anyone tell me what this is?
I have converted many files to flac & have never had problems withouth an MD5 file. Is it important?
Apologies in advance for being technically inept (I'm an old man you know  ;))
Cheers

[From Wikipedia]

MD5 digests have been widely used in the software world to provide some assurance that a transferred file has arrived intact. For example, file servers often provide a pre-computed MD5 checksum for the files, so that a user can compare the checksum of the downloaded file to it. Unix-based operating systems include MD5 sum utilities in their distribution packages, whereas Windows users use third-party applications.

And here you can find programs for creating MD5 files

Trader's Little Helper is useful for creating them, as well as fixing SBE's etc.
