I like the Depeche Mode cover - World in my eyes, the Joy Divsion cover - Love will tear us apart
and Pirate Ships by Wendy Waldman

for me DM cover is ok. I listen to interview one time where Robert tell them try to choose song for DM album and they try play Walking in my shoes first but they cannot do it!
Pirate ships: I never understand why robert want to cover such song. I try listen many times but maybe I not get it correct.

No needs to aplogize. I'm not. And I respect your opinion, as wellm\, as the others.
I forgot to mentio YA, as another one, I've heard. Not really crazy about that one.

Come to think of it, the original's a load of rubbish too

It's not one of their best songs. There were far more moving songs, such as Isolation and The Eternal, just to name a few. Closer was their best album, in my opinion. The songs were far more depressing and tragic.

Errr. Before I get jumped all over, my "rubbish" comment was directed at Young Americans & not at Love Will Tear Us Apart.
Just wanted to clear that up.

I apologize. But I wasn't jumping or about to on you. And I still hold to what I said about the JD song.

I love Purple Haze. But I admit I've never heard the original version of the song though.
No one will ever take your place, so in love with you.

Steve

Jimi's Purple Haze absolutely rocks.
The Cure's doesn't rock, more sort of "cures" ;)

Best cover is still Don't Believe a Word. FACT!

No,I wouldn't consider Cult Hero or I Dig you to be covers. They were ,both, written by Robert.edit: And The Cure did perform on them.

no, I haven't.
