I would like to make here a list of the best The Cure concerts ever. Either because of the setlist (specially), the line-up or even the magnificent venue. I will start with 1986 but maybe you can help me with the rest?

1982 - Paris, Olympia

1986 - Orange, Theatre Antique d'Orange
I put this because of the awesome venue, because it was the first concert to be on video, because of Smith's look, because of the setlist.

1989 - London, Wembley Arena (the third and last concert)
Because of the setlist

1991 - London, Town & Country Club
Because of the setlist (including for the first time ever 'The Big Hand'), the tiny venue, and the 'secrecy' of this gig

2002 - Hamburg, Color Line Arena
Incredible setlist including Forever, The Drowning Man and others

2002 - Bruxelles/Berlin 'Trilogy Concerts'
I think this does not need any introduction

2011 - London, Royal Albert Hall 'Reflections'
I put here London, because unlike Australia and the US, this was the only 'Reflections' show in Europe.

2012 - Bilbao
This must be the first time Robert performs an acoustic solo before a The Cure show. Definitely memorable.

I would have to add 3rd December 1981 at Hammersmith Palais, great sound, great set list including early versions og The Hanging Garden and One Hundred Years.

I have been to five of the gigs on your list

Matti

I might just add...

1996 - Hanau, August-Schärttner-Halle
incredible set list and atmosphere

2002 - Zillo Festival
just for Robert's introduction to Siamese Twins

2004 - Cologne, Tanzbrunnen
for the sun shining onto the Stage for almost the whole show... and the first ever live rendition of Going Nowhere that gave me goosebumps all over
and we close our eyes to sleep
to dream a boy and girl
who dream the world is nothing but a dream

Taormina 2005  The best concert I've ever seen... Magical atmosphere and amazing venue, probably even more beautiful than the Orange one... I hope they will play again in Toarmina,it would be a dream!

According to the press in an article the day after the forth encore wasn't scheduled, but Robert and the band were so excited that they decide to play 5 more songs...

Talking about memorable The Cure concerts, this week will mark the 10th Anniversary of the Trilogy concerts. The Cure played the first "Trilogy" on Bruxelles on November 7, 2002.

What are your thoughts about these shows?

If you would have to choose between this Trilogy and last year's Trilogy (the 'Reflections') which one would you choose and why?

This is the 'News' section of the old www.thecure.com site announcing the Trilogy concerts and the Hamburg Color Line Arena show. Ten years ago:

The old one - because "Disintegration" is part of it...  ;)
I might watch my dvd if I find the time (not sure).

And yes, nice to have a look at the old website news!  :)
