Title: Opener for The Cure
Post by: smitha on March 18, 2007, 22:27:58
As it seems that there will be a World Tour - at least we expect so  :?  ;) - now decide which band would you like to make the first part of the gig you'll attend. Choose some candidates, then pick the one you think fits better, or that seems to have more real chances to be the support band.

I'm into those recent bands like Mogwai, Bloc Party or The Arcade Fire. But i don't feel completely happy with none of these names.

Keep it simple â€" no opening band. Therefore, more time for The Cure. :smth020

Isn't this what they did in 2000?

ok, i assumed, with the quastion, they had not an intro but a blank space for a band. If they had an intro, i'd wish something like eyemou. But who could fill that empty place before the show?

Placebo! Muse or Arcade Fire would be good too

Honestly I would put no-one. It's a Cure concert, you don't need nothing else. However, if they would want to put some opening bands, I would choose Echo & The Bunnymen, The House of Love or The Charlatans  :smth023

What i hope for an opening act played by another band is something quick, which doesn't take too long. But i wish they prepared an intro for the new tour... something new and really fine!

i just mean, they should get on with it, it's not 1992 anymore.
of course i'd still prefer a real band like cranes thousand times more over something horrendous like placebo etc.

hey how about korn?   that might make me stay home entirely...

I couldn't agree more. What the hell is doing Robert collaborating with such bands (Placebo, Korn...etc.). I will never understand.

I prefer no opener at all... but if there HAD to be a band I could easily deal with British Sea Power, Modest Mouse or Echo & the Bunnymen (not that any of those are likely).

Id say Mogwai, but then we'd all be deaf by the time they come on, so...
Interpol?
I dont know, how about no support band  :-D
