well, i have to say that i was really disappointed with this one. it's not badly written but as it aims to be some sort of more or less comprehensive guide to just about anything and everything that the band did, and yet it's only a bit over 200+ pages long, it's very selective.
there's some nice background info about a lot of official releases in the comments section, but yet it's not detailed enough for anyone who's really into collecting (see for instance daren butler's discography book).
and especially the attempt to list radio/TV performances is pretty annoying, since they seem to have been picked pretty randomly: a lot of performances is missing and at least i cannot see any pattern how the ones that are included have been chosen. imo it would have been much better to leave those complete off then. the way it's been done now only gives a bit of an amateurish impression.
the only thing that makes it somehow worthwhile anyway might be the fact that it goes all the way up to 2004, which is 11 years closer to today than butler's book... erhhmmm...
I have never considered buying a 'Cure' book before, but appreciate being able to read thoughts here.
I certainly been a fan for a long time, love the video's, Orange and Picture show and staring at the sea, my favorites.
Guess i like to leave the rest up to the imagination, via the music.
For me to comprehend it anyway i like. I would love to see a photo book.~got to do some research on that, is there one? :smth023

I have in between days, and I have to agree with japanesebaby.... but there is a more photographical book.. 'after the rain' by David Forgier which has much more photos in it than other books mentioned.... bit of a melt-together of all other books out there. Part-discography, biography, fan-based book. It is worth having in collection of Cure books, although I still prefer 'Ten Imaginary Years' barbarian/sutherland/smith. :smth023
I haven't read it yet, but i will read it in my christmas holidays :)
But i think the best book so far is "ten imaginary years" without a doubt :)

yes, I have the Daren Butler book: the Cure on Record, it still lacks a bit, but has all those special realeases, and more comprehensive details, as well as catalogue numbers.. a bit easier to read.. and drool over those L.P.'s or C.D.s you've never even seen before.. this one gets a better thumbs up :smth023
