Nirvana is the most overrated band of all time. Since when is whining and bitching constantly considered talent? Not even Elvis, The Beatles, The Stones, Zeppelin, all the greats whined and bitched constantly in their songs. Doing a ballad is one thing, but when you constantly whine and **** in ALL of your songs, that's not talent. And I don't understand what the deal is with NIN and Trent either. Plus their music sounds really satanic/evil/hectic/whatever, and I heard they had a song called "My Gun Wants To **** You", but I don't know the facts. And Trent also discovered that no-talent freak "Marilyn Manson". Anyway, some of my favorite bands besides The Cure are:

Joe

There is a Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits compilation that gives you a good taste of each album. It actually includes 4 songs that aren't available on official releases too. But if you want to go straight into an album, I'd say pick up Siamese Dream or MACHINA first, as they have some of the more accesible material. Of course, Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness is excellent as well.  :smth023
