i wonder if  anyone has noticed cure images used in advertising?

i've been spotting this advert here for quite some time now
(it's a beer advert by one of the biggest breweries around here):



am i the only one who thinks that's robert on the right? i think it must be...
always makes me wonder if that's a fully authorized advert(?). but it must be because, otherwise it really couldn't up there as it's for a big company.
somehow i find it really weird as robert is at least known to dislike his music used in advertising.
so perhaps he has had to give rights to other sort of adverts too, not just some music clips(?).

Yes that sure is Robert in that picture. I saw a recent perfume advert on the tv that has used a cover of 'Close To Me' as well.

Funny you mentioned that! That was my foray into The Cure's music! I asked, "Mom, what is that song in that Kodak commercial?" and it turns out she was a huge Cure fan in her youth!

oh wow, i was in high school when galore came out and that is when i was first introduced to the cure...by my ex who was in college at the time.
