Cure

i prefer a darker sound
i miss the old Cure
[b]floating here like this with you
underneath the stars
alight for 13 billion years
the view is beautiful
and ours alone tonight
underneath the stars

Erik

I'd like ABINK as a single,  and 32 B sides!

If you look at their track record since Disintegration,  the B sides definitely win out!

just joking

but I do believe that Robert's over analysing steals from the projects.  I can't believe how good Seventeen Seconds is for a 14 day production,  or whatever it was.
Just release what you like best Robert.  (If you want to be back on the radio,  you need a new look too! scrap the bloated Liz Taylor appeal)

"There's some very, very downbeat seven-minute songs and some very upbeat ones," singer Robert Smith says. "One voice is saying, 'Put out the most commercial-sounding CD and draw people into the Cure world again.' There's another voice saying, 'f*ck that, let's just put out the doom and gloom.'"

WTF?
THIS IS THE EXACT SAME THING HE SAID ABOUT THE LAST ALBUM!
ALAS, THEN HE RELEASED THE "COMMERCIAL" ONES...

:-D
Fatter than Bob, balder than Porl, as sober as Simon, as amusing as Jason

During the interview on the Trilogy DVD, he said their next album might be the "heaviest album ever made".

And then it wasn't even close. Yep, it sounds like the same old story.  :?

AND ONE MORE THING - NO WAY THEY CAN PUT 33 SONGS ON A DOUBLE ALBUM!

EVEN IF THEY PUT OUT 3 SINGLES...

There are 18 songs on the (remastered) Kiss Me CD.

I think it's possible, but I'm guessing that Robert is way too picky to put everything out like that, even if it would fit on 2 discs.

maybe they'll mostly  offer us very short songs/mixes this time, like the 'hello i love you' slight return mix version - i bet you can fit a lot of 11 second songs on a double cd. :P

(ok, stupid, i know)
Ay, in the very temple of Delight
Veil'd Melancholy has her sovran shrine

Yes, doom and gloom!!! Please Robert....
Datemi un cielo per caderci dentro!
SOLO LA TERNANA!

LADY, la luce nel mio buio!

I wonder if he meant that he's looking for the "other person mixed album for the label' that was gonna be the single and forgot to mention that and the plan for the "real" mixed by him double album.. please let it be the case.... please.....

Erik

I just don't get why there is even a debate.  I can't imagine most of the sales go to commercial success - surely it must be essentially to fans who have stayed on?  why even bother?

a double CD,
a single CD
probably some radio edit versions
likely a killer set of B sides
all we are missing is a duet CD with Ashley Simpson,
and a latin version of the release for a perfect crossover success formula!

:P

actually,  I'd probably get them all!!
