So is this good news or bad news? I mean, "the only concert of the summer" makes it sound like the album isn't going to come out nearly as soon as Robert said... :?

btw: i won't be there. i suppose they'll play the same stuff like last year...

There isn't any more online I dont think
when i called the venue, they only had single and double tickets left and i think most of the best seats have gone.

There's four of us going, so we were really lucky to get tickets all together!

Now I try to ask help from you,if there is any possibility.
Next my story from Hungary about the 1st of april show...

I was between the first peoples, who want to buy ticket on ticketexpress. Sucsess to reserve 4 tickets, but when I wrote our ID number of the payment card, I took a mistake twice, with two numbers. So I lost them at the third trying....
Now we have the flight, but we have no ticket to the show. Our friends was careful, they didn't pay the flight before.
If you heard anybody, who cannot go for show, and want to help for real cure fans, on normal price, please help!!!! We need two tickets, because we must fly to London. I hope somebody can help us,we try before the show on the street also.
If you can help us, thaks before,we'll be there in London,

Many-many thanks,

Post by: japanesebaby on March 14, 2006, 20:58:50
just curious if anyone who's going to the royal albert hall show has received their tickets just yet? i bought mine via the original link on thecure.com (www.seetickets.com) and their order tracker still says to me that they don't even have the tickets yet. but i've just heard that some people who bought from other ticket agencies have already received their tickets days ago - weird? or am i just being paranoid... :smt120

anyway, i just find it pretty annoying that seetickets have this policy of "please do not contact us earlier than 5 days before the show". if there really happened to be something out of the ordinary then five days is pretty insufficient if you live well outside the UK, and also because what if i should already be on my way then? they don't even seem to have an email service to contact to, you can contact them only by phone. well i never encountered something like that before with an international seller.
ok...  ;-)

This is listed on their website..  I have mailed these before and it normally takes 3-4 days for them to reply to you..

yes i've actually emailed them already but i only get an automatic reply that says "please use the tracker" or "call us".
i guess i have to call then although i hate to think how much that'll cost, it's a rather long distance call.
i would expect then to reply emails though, at least when they do seem to have an email-based customer service. hmm, definitely the strangest ticket agency i've ever come across...

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to get tickets to you by the date of the show, we are advising you that your order will be available for collection from the venue box office at Royal Albert Hall on the day of the performance from 1845hrs.*"

what is this? the crappiest service i've ever encountered, sorry to say!

yes! i remember i just got my tickets for the 2002 london show at the venue (but paid for p&p!   ). but for the london 2003 show they sent the tickets to me via mail. i think this time it's like the first possibility!?!

sorry, wrong: i'm familiar with the fact that it's certainly a common way in the uk that you collect your tickets at the venue, but it's not any sort of universal way even over there. and this agency especially claimed that they will mail the tickets, so i'm just wondering why they are changing their minds and keep claiming that they cannot send the tickets because they "are not available" while other agencies have been mailing them for about two weeks? sorry but i find this weird, and also a bit annoying.

and yes, i also paid for the p&p already... so i see, they seem to be after making a few extra pounds then...

Quote from: cult_heroin 2002 they also told us they will send the tickets but they didn't. they kept the money for p&p (of course...).

was that the very same agency as it is here now? or maybe it's too far back to remember(?). and maybe it's a common way over there to scam a few pounds out of us poor non-uk persons everytime we dare to even think of going over there...  ;-)

as far as i remember:
1. it wasn't the same agency but i can't remember the name;
2.  they told us they had problems with the printing of the tickets.

I bought my tickets from the original link on The Cure web site and they turned up today, so I don't know why you have had this experience? I am in the UK though, so I guess that is the difference. Still would have thought they could have posted them to you in time, though?!

Cheers

i've heard about some other people in europe (non-UK though) who have also received this same email that says they cannot ship the tickets. but i've also just heard of someone from the US who already got the tickets via mail. so i dont' really get this: i could understand if they would say that they ship only inside UK and non-UK buyers have to pick the tickets up at the venue, but this doesn't really make any sense to me.
i REALLY hope there isn't something funny going on?  :?

But why do they play always the same songs??...    :(

It begins to be boring...

i don't find this setlist boring.  38 songs is quite incredible!  sure, many of the songs are played often.  but, with the guitar-based line-up they're more limited as to what they can pull of live.  plus, it's not like they're supporting a new album.

i thought exactly the same! booooring! :smt015

i'm not sad i wasn't there!

always the same! again and again and again. yeah, i know why i don't like the new guitar-based-line-up!    ;-)

at least three surprises: "the drowning man", "why can't i be you (extended)" and no "faith"! and it seems the band played better than last year (not very difficult  ;-) ) and robert's voice sounded better.

Just a quick note about last night's show.....one thing that really stood out to me was how much Simon seemed to be into playing.  He is always hopping around, but last night he was more mobile that usual.  He was wailing on the bass during The Kiss, and really let loose at the end of A Forest, even throwing the bass onto the stage at the end!!!

And I forgot to mention....Killing an Arab was changed to Killing Another.  I'm not a big fan of changing the lyrics, but I think Another is a better substitute than what was used in Berlin!

well I thought it was a great setlist, true no new material but still plenty of great tracks from years gone by, a brilliant night cant wait for later in the year, if Robert keeps his promise :D

:D  :-D  a great night...
well i do agree they could finally start considering ditch a few numbers (like 'boys don't cry', 'inbetween days' and so on - i'm sure everyone would rather hear 'jumping someone else's train' and 'lament' or something...) but it was a Quality performance 8) and i'd say that at least for me personally that counts more than just what's on a setlist.
and we got great versions of 'the figurehead' and 'a strange day', 'if only...' & 'the kiss' came in the mainset, also 'drowning man', 'baby screams' & 'fire in cairo' among some others were really good versions i think...
and we got to see and hear robert's new acoustic in action (didn't we?? hm, at least i am assuming it was that?? wasn't close enough to be sure...)
and none of any of those feared voice problems this time  :-D

by the way they were signs at the arena doors (inside) saying that the performance is being filmed "for TV or "some other purposes" " (sorry, i cannot remember the exact words). does anyone know when and where it (or parts of it, i assume) might be broascast?? hmm, but it'll probably be an UK only broadcast anyway so...  :(

I wonder if the filming thing was just referring to the cameras that were filming the show for broadcast on the screen behind the stage.  There was a few times where the camera was behind Jason and you could see the crowd on the floor.  There is a disclaimer on the back of every other ticket about that as well.

yes i originally thought so too, but i also do remember seeing a note on the arena doors that especially used the expression "for TV" which i then took to mean something else than just the screens used in the show. but it's very likely that it was just nothing. surely no reason to start waiting for any dvds coming out - a nice thought though  :)

Just got a pretty stunning video of the complete show, very good sound and very stable image taken from the upper right looking down at the stage at about a 30-35 degree angle.  Just think "up...and to the right"..."up...and to the right" (you JFK fans understand).  The lighting is just the same as the Festival 2005 dvd, muted reds, blues and greens.  The camera is focused on the band, very balanced image, and then the cameraman pretty much leaves it alone.  I am VERY VERY glad to have this, if you like the latest Porl line-up, you need this.
