Title: Did you know that Robert Smith wanted Alan Wilder (ex-Depeche Mode) in the band?
Post by: dsanchez on May 17, 2009, 16:10:26
"After his split from Depeche Mode (1995), Alan Wilder was approached by contemporary indie-star and Depeche Mode-fan Robert Smith with an offer to join The Cure. Wilder respectfully declined"

I just try to image how The Cure would have sounded with Wilder's excellent contribution. Wow, that would have been great I suposse...

Well, there probably would have been less this in the band:

So, why not?  :-D

And maybe The Cure would still have a keyboard player...

I only knew from one of his very early interviews that he couldn't
imagine to play with Depeche Mode longer than ten years.Anyway
it was clever from Robert to ask him. What a shame because I liked
the stuff from Alan. :(
