Heh...I was thinking "Hmm, I'd rather hear Doing The Unstuck than Faith, myself..." just now...that and Bloodflowers, of things recently but rarely played.

Well, everyone is going to have their preferences. But to keep things realistic, I think we should go for songs that they've soundchecked/already played in the last two years.

All the songs mentioned in the past few posts qualify, but I'm just saying that completely obscure stuff like "Burn" might not be accomplish much (although maybe it could give Robert an idea, who knows).

And yes, all signs probably have two sides.  ;)

Yeah, as much as I'd like to bring a Secrets/Give Me It sign, I just don't think it would do the trick.

Plainsong

Can you imagine "Burn" live with this lineup?? Oh wow.
And the double-sided sign is indeed a good idea. Wish I had some artistic talent, though...

Why not a HANGING GARDEN sign too? Probably the best-sounding song with this lineup, yet criminally underplayed. :?

yes!!!!!!!!! a vote from me ... hanging garden please!!!!  :smth041

I'll only be at the Santa Barbara show, but I intend to make a PORNOGRAPHY banner. So maybe it's a bit unrealistic, so maybe I'm hurting the cause. But I am the only one who remembers how fantastic the guitar-y 4Play version sounds? I think this lineup could do great things with it.

Other songs I'd die to hear, in order of desire:

1) Burn
2) The Same Deep Water As You [I'm convinced it could be pulled off without keyboards]
3) Faith
4) The Hanging Garden
5) The Figurehead

If they play any of those at the Santa Barbara concert, I'll die happy.
Another Curefan for The Dark Christmas album.

And I'll add that unless you're within the first 10 rows, I'm not sure a sign will do much good. It's well-known that Robert's vision is very poor.

So please volunteer if you have really good seats.  :smth100

yes please volunteer for this people ! :!:

about the only thing i regret about the european tour was that we didn't organize this sign thing any better already before the tour and didn't see it done that there would have been several sings held in severals shows. it would have been really cool and i think it might have even started making some difference (if nothing more then at least that we would have gotten more press coverage ;)).
so let's make this more organized now!

and true about robert's vision - i'm not sure if he can see more than 3 feet away: so people with good seat please do come forward. and better to write short messages with BIG BLOCK letters.

'burn': i seriously couldn't ever imagine them playing it with this line-up. so unfortunately it would be a waste of time to make signs as this (although it's a nice and short 4-letter word). we could concentrate on something that they actually might play, if pushed enough(?).

With this line-up or any line-up?  Because I think this one would do a killer job on that track  :rocker

The only that ever came out of Burn was the same notes from the solo again slowed down as "The Loudest Sound"...So if you saw a dream tour show you have seen 30 seconds of Burn every time you saw that song!

I agree!!  I'd LOVE to see them do Burn live!!  I seem to remember reading somewhere they played Burn live once a few years ago?  Am I right or did I just imagine that?
The further we go, and older we grow, the more we know the less we show

Bloodflower

You imagined it.

Burn has never been attempted live.

It's one of the great Cure tragedies.

Another Curefan for The Dark Christmas album.

Thanks Bloodflower.  'Tis a bit of tragedy....

Have there been any request signs on display?  I'll be bring the Other Voices sign along with me and will most likely fill in the other side with "HANGING GARDEN".

Oooooo....better yet, "BASS VI"  :-D  I wonder if he's even brought one on tour?  Sadly, I think the answer would be no.

At the Philly Show if you had a sign before you walked into the Spectrum they were confiscated by security.  I didn't see a single sign in the place during the show so I doubt anyone snuck one in.  Not sure if it was the venues policy or the band but usually you see something at a show.  Good Luck getting your's in, I hope you'll be able to with no issues.
