Its definately a grower, every time i listen to it, i like it more.

"its gets better every day i said"....... see, does what it says on the tin.  ;)

I guess it is very Wish era, but theres nothing wrong with that.
Enough, from all these people saying anyone who likes it, does so just because they think 'oh, The Cure can do no wrong' ........... rubbish, get your head out of 1989, stop waiting for pornography part 2 and recoginse a good song when you hear it  ;)

Thanks scatcat. I am pretty entertaining by all accounts when I do dance LOL :smth020
The other one feeds on my hesitation
Grows inside of my trepidaton
Buries his claws in my dislocation
I whisper your name to lose control

Secrets

It might be a simple pop song, but I find it an encouraging sign.

The guitar and bass put me in mind of wish era songs of the High & Deep Green Sea variety.

I'm sure over the span of a double album there will be a good mix of light and dark, fast and slow, so no need to fret just yet.

AND WHAT ABOUT THAT BACKING TRACK FOR JASON?!

:?
Fatter than Bob, balder than Porl, as sober as Simon, as amusing as Jason

ROGUE

I just cant get over Porls guitar, he is so amazing, The ears deceive when you think its keyboards- he is amazing.

And i remember the concert in Melb often, yeh the drums were great, kept me grounded and in total contact with
the whole set.,  I luv drums but dont listen to them (consciously)  or think of them often,  but afterwards i realised
he's work is understated, and irreplaceable.  :rocker

Luv the new song and cant wait for more and more.

scatcat

the more i listen to the live versions of this new song,  I just love it more!! ooohh  :D
Seventeen seconds
A measure of life

tigermilk

I love it, it's a little more dirty than I'm used to from The Cure, but it's fun and has a good rhythm to it. I really wish that the album would come out already... I'm itching to hear it!

Poe

Love this song too, especially melody-wise. Had no idea he sung "suck me like this" until now...the only lyrics I've found on the net say "insult me like this", but perhaps they were too  to hear what he was really singing...? Well, guess Robert has grown a little gutsier since the (deliciously) ambiguous A Man Inside My Mouth...

the more i hear it, the more... useless it is. like someone somewhere here originally pointed out, the music is just a reprise of 'a letter to elise' (they just speeded it up).
and the lyrics are - pretty stupid.
Ay, in the very temple of Delight
Veil'd Melancholy has her sovran shrine

Are they really that similar? Hasn't occurred to me. Oh well, when you've made as many songs as The Cure has, there are bound to be bits and pieces of songs that reincarnate, more or less...no idea if it really was intentional this time.

I really like it... light, funny, makes me want to flit around the house singing it .. not all lyrics have to "mean" something! Mind you, can't help but think what's inspired Robert here...pretty risque for him!! Nice. This with " A boy I never Knew".  I'd buy it!!
Different strokes for different folks!  :smth023

Dirty boys have more fun.  ;) 8)

IT'S A REALLY NICE SONG!
MAKES ME WISH ROBERT WAS IN HIS 20'S AGAIN...

IF THEY PUT IT OUT AS A FIRST SINGLE, IT COULD SCRATCH THE TOP 20 FOR A WEEK OR TWO...

AND OFCOURSE, THE VIDEO HAS TO BE GREAT TOO...

Yeah, the video....hope they'll have a stand-in for Robert during the more, hrm, intimate scenes. Otherwise you will most certainly not be the only one wishing he was in his 20's again.
