I'm too tired to think/write German this evening, but language is like an operating system, and I'm happy to have had two complete operating systems in my life because it gives me something to compare to.  German is rather clever with its compound nouns, and I appreciate that it was my first operating system, and still being able to switch into it.  There's a certain logic about it, and also an ability to make words to express things other languages often can't, as this clip shows.

Grossartig, so viel Kurzweil...

For those who don't speak German, she seriously said:  "An encore is like having to snuggle after an orgasm.  Surely at some point it has to be over."   :1f635:

Having to snuggle.   :1f635:

I'm sure she was stirring the pot there.  :-D

Very funny stuff - thank you, @MeltingMan; it's nice to have "refresher courses" in German - I've only flown over that country once since leaving it last century...

And I've never understood why there's this misconception that Germans don't have a sense of humour...  I sometimes think that people who've never been to Germany judge Germans by the English people playing Nazis on Anglosphere TV, saying, "Ve vill make you talk!  Ve haff vays of making you talk!" in really bad accents...  :winking_tongue

These guys are highly amusing!  :smth023

Every time I pick up my reading glasses at the moment, the word "Nasenfahrrad" comes into my head.  I've not heard the word since childhood but my brain for some reason retrieved it for me.  For non-German speakers - it's a cute description of glasses as a "nose bicycle"!

Is that word still in common use in Germany?

:rofl  Vielen Dank, urkomisch!

:angel)

...was a bit cross-eyed looking at a member name and accidentally mis-read it in German. It was actually Neonbluetiger but I read it as Neon-Blutiger and wondered if there was some new brand of horror film / zombie farce...  :o
