Hi, I just bought the original Japanese Whispers CD. Did it always come without any additional art? Only names of the songs and credits?

Also there is something strange with it. On the matrix you can see that the disc was made in Germany. It is also said on the back of the CD case.

But on the disc - I really cannot find the exact word you can see the following:

BIEM      817 470-2
STEMRA

ADQ        Made in
           France
           by PMDC

This is weird...

So, anyone can confirm that it is on every disc?

it's a curious detail, not often noticed i think!
anyway i have the very same disc as you and i think this is normal for one type of french pressing. have a look here:

The Cure · Japanese whispers (c.r.) CD LP France Polydor (made by PMDC)
Pressed in 1990 Catalogue # 817 470-2. German sleeve with the fake sticker. CD is made in France by PMDC.

there's also another french pressing, without "made in west germany" text in the cd sleeve:

the original german pressings (whether the one that came with a picture disc or with blank, silver-colored cd) have a similar paper sleeve but have a text "made in germany" in the cd matrix.
i hope this helps.
