Do any one of you know how to re-encode the audio of a amateur recorded cure dvd to ac3 to make the dvd less space consuming? I?ll keep it in pcm format if no easy solution exists to re-encode the audio. Tmpgenc dvd author won?t encode to dolby digital. Encoding to dolby digital (ac3) would save space 500-600mb from an 75minute dvd.
tmpg enc dvd author won?t encode to ac3 without buying an expensive
soundplayer expansion.

After having a lot of the same frustration as you, I found this program called ffmpeggui. It's so incredibly simple and does excellent conversion to AC-3. I tried a lot of horrible and complicated stuff before discovering this. One program cost over $600! This is completely free:

Thanks for the advice. :) I?ll try it to the szeged2005 dvd.
I just found out that Nero Recode 2 does
a brilliant job in shrinking a dvd (picture) to dvd5. DVD shrink didn?t give
that good (transparent) results in image quality although i tried every option in it, the picture went softer somewhat. But the job of Recode 2 is transparent. Of course
dvd shrink is free where recode 2 isn?t "free". Hopefully ffmpeg does
the same shrinking quality to the sound.
