Yeah, SoCal has been getting quite a lot of The Cure lately.  But remember, the Bay Area got Download in '07 and a show during the 4tour.  That's two more shows than some place like Detroit, where they normally play.  They've also skipped New Orleans and the Nashville are recently.  ;)

But hey, since we're on the topic of places we think they should come to, my thinking is they still need to play SEATTLE!  Many fans couldn't make the trip to Sasquatch in the middle of the state.  I had a 4th row ticket!

I agree 100%. Anywhere in the northwest would be superb. i had i think 13th row tickets for the seattle show. but i was one row closer in san jose :)
I think i'm going to try to get to this one. my mum brought up a good point, tax returns could make this trip possible.

does anybody know if this festival sells out? i assume it doesn't.  looks like a pretty big place.
It usually doesn't. It has only sold out in 2004 (Radiohead/Cure/Pixies reunion) and 2007 (Rage reunion), so you should be good for at least a little.

oh yeah, i must add that i am incredibly disgusted and shocked that the killers are headlining the second night, and don't be surprised if morrissey cancels hours before he is supposed to go on (happened at the kroq inland invasion in 2004).
Most likely, someone will replace the Killers at the top of Saturday. There should be a couple more big adds.

There must be a typo or something. Perhaps the killers are supposed to be headlining at one of the nearby Indian casinos?

I'm torn....I want to go, but not sure.  A buddy of mine works as a stagehand at Coachella every year.  Maybe if he can pull some strings for me   ;)

just bought my tickets yesterday, and even though they are astronomically priced, it is still worth it ($117.00 for one ticket).

is that a three-day ticket or just for one day?

you're right haha. when i saw that line-up i was just thinking "they must be incredibly brave (or, slightly... stupid :-P) over there, to sign morrissey (for a headliner)...".
i have an idea for them, how to handle it, how to avoid himm cancelling on the very last minute and embarrass them all:
they should just change the line-ups and put the cure and morrisey on a same day: the cure would headline and morrissey be second or third in the bill. then he would cancel with certainty (and well in advance :D).

I believe Sir Paul McCartney is headlining night one.  ;)

I might be going to night 3.  We'll see.  I'm up for a promotion at work, which if I get I'd have to move to Portland.  The move would conflict with Coachella.  I've already booked a hotel just in case I don't get the job.  :P

Ooooooh, I hope I can go! I spent too much money flying to LA to see them last December. But it was an experience of a lifetime. Cochella will set me back a few digits for sure.

pink ego box

Yeah going to LA in december put me in the hole.
I think I have like $45 right now.
Plus no one wants to go with me.
I'm sad.
Hope everyone who goes has lots of fun.

minisuperjennifer

After the initial excitement.... I realize I just can't afford to go to Cochella. Its sad but oh well.

Paul McCartney is headlining that day, not Morrissey.

And it's extremely likely that The Chemical Brothers will be announced as the true headliner for Saturday.  Though, quite frankly, The Killers are big enough in the US to headline the day just fine.

I've not been, but from friends who have, I don't believe there are any seats.

are there actually ticketed seats at Coachella?

no, everything is general admission. parking lot opens at 9am, doors at 11. unlike when the cure played at the inland invasion in 2003, those who get there early when the doors open actually have a chance of getting close to the main stage.  :smth023

please remember to bring sunscreen and a hat. i made the mistake of not bringing either when i saw the cure and was in the sun from 11am to whenever the sun went down. i had recently shaved my head and lemme tell u, a sun burnt, blistered noggin' is not fun.  this is what i looked like and felt----> :smth011
