If Jason would just drum One Hundred Years without the tape, I'd think a lot more of him. And I understand that he's got huge shoes to fill -- Boris is an incredible drummer.

I definitely wouldn't call the Bloodflowers line-up The Cure's best -- I think that title belongs to the Disintegration or Wish line-ups -- but they were certainly very talented.

And I don't get the Roger hate. Sure, the tambourine stuff was beyond lame, but would you rather have him ruin a keyboardless song by putting on keys?

TRILOGY is certainly an experience, and it is second on my list, behind ENTREAT. Still excellent, no question, but I do feel some songs were overdone, particularly the PORNOGRAPHY songs. They seem to have been altered to fit in better with the DISINTEGRATION and BLOODFLOWERS stuff; and while that works well, and it really is very well done, I think I prefer the less tame, more wild versions played in earlier concerts (CONCERT, in particular, has one of my favourite versions of ONE HUNDRED YEARS).
Another Curefan for The Dark Christmas album.

PAOKCURE

Trilogy! There is nothing like it!
I went away alone with nothing left but faith

JASON GETS  :smth023   :smth023   FROM ME EVERY TIME!

THIS "RETURN OF BORIS" IS GETTING REALLY, REALLY DULL!

REMEMBER WHEN ROBERT SAID THAT HE WANTS THREE PIECE CURE WHEN HE SACKED ROGER AND PERRY?!

WHAT HAPPENED WITH THAT?!

Fatter than Bob, balder than Porl, as sober as Simon, as amusing as Jason

MY POINT WAS THAT ON TRILOGY YOU HAVE THE BEST LINE UP THE CURE EVER HAD AND THE FACT IS I DONT BELIVE THEY WILL EVER GET THAT GOOD!!!

ROBERT
SIMON
ROGER
PERRY
JASON

THATS THE CURE FOR ME!

ps

there, I said it!

i think thats only the second best. I think the best lineup is without a doubt:

ROBERT
SIMON
PORL
ROGER
BORIS

and yeah lol was there too i guess...

the bands 5 most talented musicians in which they recorded their best album and had their best tour.

WELL, I DONT KNOW WHAT WAS IN ROBERTS MIND AT THE TIME!

WAS HE AIMING FOR THREE PIECE SOUND?!

WAS HE ABOUT TO DO THE TOUR WITH "THREE IMAGINARY BOYS" "17 SECONDS" "FAITH" AND "PORNOGRAPHY" ?!

WAS HE ABOUT TO MAKE ANOTHER NEW WAVE OR DARKWAVE ALBUM?!

OR WHAT?!

Dillinger

well they played alot of the bopys dont cry/three imaginary boys songs at the albert hall show.

Bloodflower

I think the three-piece idea that Robert had in mind was of the 'sound' of those times. I think he wanted to sound that way, to recapture the idea of minimalism. I'm speculating a lot tonight.....

Entreat - the best line-up playing a fantastic set. I wish they'd release more of this concert. They should make it available as a download only or something.

Dillinger

welcome to the board adam60

adam60

thanks Farquad. Long time lurker. I've started posting because I'm gonna try and upload some stuff and it took me ages to realise how the board works.

Welcome!

"ENTREAT" IS A MUST IF THEY'RE GONNA REMASTER "DISINTEGRATION"

I would pray that it wouldn't be download-only, like that "trio" set of songs. Bleh.

I want packaging, I want something I won't accidentally delete or need to back up, I want something I can bring and play anywhere...

For Entreat (or hell, the entirety of Wembley), I'd love it to be done right...

Tof

Orange but Paris is excellent too !!!
