Robert....arrivo!
C'mooon Robi!!! :rocker
Happy for you...and your husband of course! :-D

Oh yeah, the "who will be there" topic...gotta add my name!
Edit: Ah, you did it already, what an efficient spokesperson we have!
all guys and girls going to this show:
anyone who could do the coverage from this gig? :)
we might need a new pair of hands to type some sms...

Yes. And it would be enough to send the setlist every break, it's not necesary to send song by song. Any help will be appreciated!

lacrima mosa was going to cover this show for us, but he wanted to enjoy one of the shows he's going to without any interferences. since he already did great coverage for us from münchen and zürich, i think we can all grant him this wish and give him a "day off from the office", ;)
erpomata has promised to keep us posted if anything new/out of ordinary happens, and in any case confirm the setlist for us after the show. thanks to him. :smth023
meanwhile, we're updating the set list according to the live coverage offered by cureconnections.com.
let's wait and see if erpomata will wake us up with some interesting news...
and if we don't hear from him - then i guess it was "just another show"... let's hope this will happen!
anyway, at the moment it looks like it's another disintegration flavored shows....
'till now only A Night Like This different from Rome
Catch is a nice surprise :D
CATCH  :smth020 I love Catch
and Kyoto song...I love this
Push... by the way, i wonder what you folks think about the backing track for 'push'? i was just talking to a curefriend yesterday who thought it really spiked the song up and made it new and fresh, whereas i had been just about to say "but they've murdered 'push' with that awful backing track".
i don't mind backing tracks on some songs, like i think the one on 'at night' is kind of cool. but the more i hear 'push', the more i regret they had to add that LOUD drum machine (or whatever it is) there...
(by the way, with 'catch' and 'kyoto song' around, 'fteotdgs' had really interesting company tonight!)

And I'm actually surprise to hear you say the same for Kyoto Song :P

'interesting' - well i think one can use that word without making it a statement of value, so to speak... i mean i could have just as well meant it was sort of "interesting"... ;)
i used to like 'catch' but i'm not sure it's best suited stuff for them these days. at least the version on mexico '07 (2nd night) was somehow pretty pale, imo.
i'd rather hear 'the big hand'.

the first would be possible, but Funeral Party with this lineup??? simply a no-no...
 quite funny to see one is now already mentioning if Catch is played. Don't get me wrong, like the song and don't mind it being played, but can hardly be called a curiosity...
In my opinion I think Catch, and Kyoto are lovely little additions to the set tonight, "refreshing" as was mentioned earlier
as to the quality of how they sounded live tonight..i cannot comment...but generally I like these two songs and wasn't expecting to hear both of them tonight.

well i suppose it only demonstrates how little variance there's actually been in the setlists so far - so even 'catch' becomes a real curiosity...
erpomata wrote : 17 seconds, i'm asking if he means the song or the "classic" 17 seconds encore.
not the song,
the classic encore ! :-D
if there are no updates,
the encore is the same as Roma.
as said,
classic encore 'till now! :-D
Marco Erpomata : "time for pop encore"
the plot thickens...
(please no pop, please no... (http://elouai.com/images/yahoo/51.gif))
*edit. aaah you posted while i was typing. oh well. i think i once more managed to prove that praying is a waste of... :x)
and now
WCIBY?
Marco Erpomata : "Old School Encore"
different order,
are they going to play something "special" ?
:-D
encore 4? ;)
Marco Erpomata : "Finito!"
then, it's over!
ah, until next time then :)
Thank you Erpomata !!!
Great mainset, classic encores ...
they get a better mainset than Rome
and erpomata just say : " milano wins against rome "
probably, it's for the mainset...
thanks for erpomata for completing the setlist for us. :smth023
alright guys,
another great night with you, everyone at the show and The Cure.
now, I put some movie on, and then... SLEEP! :-D
good night!

It's nice to know his midlife crisis is over. :-D
But I was actually hoping he'd dye it blue and white for Reading! :P
Little difference between Roma and Milano: I see that the mainset was much more "Kiss me kiss me kiss me" and "The head on the door" oriented. :smth023
Thanks to Marco/erpomata, for sending me his impressions during the show too ;)
And how about the young Bob? He danced last night?
yep,
it seems he was dancing again !
:-D
Yes, Robert danced a little, he really seemed to be enjoying himself. They all sounded awesome! The Kiss blew me away most of all.
I was with a friend who is not a fan, she barely knows The Cure; she just came to keep me company and because she likes to go to concerts, she goes to a lot of them, so her opinion is certainly more objective than mine...and she said she was really impressed with how good they sounded, and especially how Robert belted out those songs even at the end of the three hours. And then she made me laugh because, after watching Robert on stage for a while, she turned to me and said "He's really shy, isn't he?" :smth043
Anyway, magical night, I'm still walking around smiling to myself like a loon.
i'm glad to hear that robiola !
:-D
happy you enjoyed the show !
OMG What a show!!!!!!!
Me and disi were in the first row in front of Porl...he used to smile to us, ahah, so lovely!!! :-D
They were so close to us...wow...it was like a dream and then..."Kyoto Song" and "Close to me" on my face, robert was few centimetres from us!!!!! :smth049
I lost my mind during many songs as IOTWCS/THE KISS, A FOREST, A NIGHT LIKE THIS
When Robert said "this is catch" I thought to die...I love that song and live it's amazing!
I'd like to add some info for you:
Simon has black hair again! ;)
Robert dressed soldiers pants with a pink-betty boop badge!!!! :-D
Porl dressed as a dark lady!!!
Both Rome and Milan were excellent (luckily we had 2 different setlists :smth023), especially for the atmosphere: people screamed, pushed and jumped all the time!!!! :-D
Yes, a very great show, I'm very happy.
We have much photos of Roma and Milano, in the next days we meet here in the forum!
I'm uploading the pics of rome and milan in the gallery! ;)
Thanks erpomata for the setlist!! :smth023
It's great that you enjoyed the show robiola.
Your friend is nice. What she said about Robert is sweet :)
Super that you enjoyed the show and had a great time Lady!!! :)
Thanks for the pictures Disintegration and Lady!
Ooooh...front row! How I envy you....
ciao
here i am!
so i was disappointed with rome, and happy with milano. i heard a great the kiss, and maybe the best pictures of you i ever heard live. they were powerful as in rome, acoustic was better. so people said what had to be said, it was my 14 show and now waiting for 15 in paris!
thanks to all people i met in milano, especially for the ones lost in a night bus :-D
