Title: WAV to FLAC?
Post by: aap on March 24, 2008, 00:53:08
Hello, i've recorded the gig in Rotterdam March 18th with my new Zoom H4.
Recorded it in WAV 44.1 Khz, 24-bit

I believe i heard WAV was one of the best sound quality's but i see i can;t post the format in the download section (and it's very big to upload it somewhere)

so anyone know what is the best way to convert the WAV files to FLAC, or maybe an other better format?.. thanks! Tristan.

you can try this:
http://tlh.easytree.org/

or, if you happen to be on mac, then try xACT:

anyway, FLAC is definitely the format to use there.  :smth023

ps. about flac: you might also find it interesting to check out the sub board here for 'FLAC and other lossles formats' for tips and ideas.

I always use Trader's Little Helper to do my converting.  You can find the latest version here:

Keep in mind that this is a Windows only program.  One of our Mac users should be able to point you in the right direction if need be.

so i converted it now to flac.. but the total size is 1,20gb.

any suggestiond of site where i can upload it? (i dont have a dimeadozen(?) account)

If i post it on rapidshare,  i can only put two songs at the time in one file (max size 100 mb.)

Thanks...

if you don't have an ftp space of your own or can't do torrents, then i think rapidshare or megaupload or something like that must do. the forum offers to share the links but does not have public server space (curefans.com does not host any files). so everyone must take care of uploading their shows individually.

you can zip two or three songs into one file and uploads those. sure it's a lot of uploading but blame it on ol' bob who likes to play so damn long shows...
