'the cure: faith' by dave butler and brian dray

i've heard some good things about this and i even own a copy... but for some reason i never finished reading it, i think i quit after a few chapters only. i honestly can't remember what the exact reason was, other than i remember that i somehow found the writers' approach a bit irritating, like they were trying to analyze everything in a besserwisser kind of way(?). 

anyone has a real opinion on this one?
