I can't rate them in order. I think they are all excellent in their own way. I believe "The Cure" is the worst, but I still wouldn't rate it that low. "Wild Mood Swings" is the second worst in my opinion, but I actually really like it, especially the live versions of the songs.

For my list, I'm going to rank them on album period which would include all the b-sides. The first 5 were easy to do but the bottom 7 weren't. I like them all but I had to judge them based on what they do for me in way of feelings/emotions.
1-Wish (as a whole project-nothing compares)
2-Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me (my all time fav album)
3-The Head On The Door (amazing everytime I put it in)
4-Disintegration (real emotion but lacks the fun I seek)
5-Wild Mood Swings (odd yet interesting-complete with b-sides it's great)
6-Seventeen Seconds (if this was recorded live, it would be the best)
7-Bloodflowers (has some great highs on it)
8-The Cure (complete, this one keeps me going)
9-Three Imaginary Boys (can not be discounted-has some classic moments)
10-The Top (just doesn't have enough power to grab me)
11-Pornography (a great album but just not my style)
12-Faith (sorry-but this never took off with me)

for me Wild Mood Swing is kind of enigma. Show is really a bad live recording. I can't understand those who prefer it than Concert, witch is kind of punk recording. So many energy in!!!

I totally agree with you about the self titled Cure album. It's their best work as a whole since Wish. I believe that should have been proper follow up instead of Wild Mood Swings. There's so many good songs on it too; Taking Off, End Of The World, alt.end, Before Three, Lost, Never and Labyrinth. Truly their best in ages.

Yes!! It's a great album. I pump up Lost and Labyrinth so loud (I would love to see those songs live). I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that it is a wonderful record. :smth023
I wished that they included the extra tracks on there. Like 'Fake', 'This Morning', 'Truth, Beauty & Goodness', Why Can't I Be Me' etc. But oh well. I will just have to buy the singles from Ebay to get those B-Sides because apparently they are pretty good.
I think it's interesting that the majority of cure fans dislike the Wild Mood Swings album so much... it's not my favorite either because it has so many like weird jazzy type songs (or however you would describe them), but actually half the songs are really really good. Like WANT i'm sure everyone would agree doesn't even fit on the album because it's so good but there are a lot of other good ones like This Is a Lie, Jupiter Crash, Numb, Treasure, Bare, Trap.

I agree. I find it to be an enjoyable album with a lot of variation. They have never done a bad album, but it seems as though many fans want to compare the non-classic albums (eg. Wild Mood Swings) to classic albums (eg. Disintegration). And this is really not fair on the band. There are happy sides of the Cure and gloomy sides too. We should embrace them all, afterall Robert is still around smiling and Ian Curtis (RIP)... well you know the rest. This is all true. Actually in the beginning of my Cure obsession Wild Mood Swings was one of my fav albums cause i think i hadn't gotten the feel for the older stuff yet.

Funny, those are also the 2 songs that impress me the least and that bring the album a bit down, but not much. It's still their 3rd best for me, because those 2 songs are good and the rest of the album shows The Cure at their best. The only real problem, as I've said before, is that Robert's vocals on most tracks seem to be too upfront... maybe if his voice back then was as powerful as it nowadays this wouldn't matter at all, but since in 1981 he was still "learning", occasionally he sounds more whiney than he should.
yeah, you right. he sings now the old songs better than in the past, he has so
strong voice nowadays. it's just mine opinion but i like more the style of The
Kiss, when he sing not so much despite i like his voice a lot..but the new ones
nearly all ending with words, not with just the music. i like the long instrument
opening, then he sing a bit and then just the instruments ended the song (a
perfect example is the live versions of A Forest, wich is my favorite Cure song
ever). but like i said before i love his voice so much!!!

(1 Join The Dots 11/10, despite it being 70 songs, it really is just my fav Cure work, buuut it's not an album so gah)

2. Wish 9.5/10, I'm extremely emotionally attatched to Cut, TWIT, End, Elise, and unstuck. And Friday is always fun ;p
3. Kiss me, Kiss me, Kiss me 9/10, Just such a fun album! Has everything on it really, One More time being my fav
4. Blooflowers, 8.5/10 This is where it's gonna get tricky for (yes im doing this as i go lol) Loudest Sound is another track that I just feel so connected with, it's pure genius really, the whole album seems like a lazy dream like you want to sleep forever
5. Wild Mood Swings 8/10, Really, I just love this album, most of it is... well not crap, but not my cup of tea really. But Want, Club America, Trasure and Bare are amazing songs. And Bare aone helped me through so much.
6. Faith 8/10, An album that I can listen to back to back over and over again and it feels fresh everytime. All Cats Are Gray being my fav, so beautiful and sad. Makes me feel like I'm in a cave alone like just watching a forest outside raining, it's something I love.
7. The Head on the Door 8/10, This album to me always felt like Kiss Me's mini-me, just a fun album. Push is always a fav, it's just like the perfect song, I know Cure haters that like it heh.
8. The Cure 7/10, I'm not an old fan, I saw the vid for End of the World, and I' like... WTF? But it is the start of the Cure for me, and the album isn't bad, it's just not as good as it could have been. Before Three is orgasmic, and Going Nowhere is amazing.
9. Three Imaginary Boys/Boys Don't Cry 7/10, Most of it just isn't really my style of music, but it's great fun none the less. Boys Don't Cry is just such a perfect song though :)
10. Pornography 7/10, I easily don't like it as much as most Cure fans musically, but I still do feel the power in the songs and the pure emotion put into each one. I don't think the Cure's emotion is more powerful in any other album.
11. The Top 6.5/10, It's kinda weird to me, really "bleh" I guess, buuuut, for some reason I like it.
12. Seventeen Secons 6/10, Sadly, I just couldn't get into this, like Pornogrpahy. Play for Today and M are really great, and A Forest is just like the staple song of this era.
Eh, that's how I feel at the moment, I'd prolly play around with the boddom ones more. I don't dislike any album, sometimes it's just my mood.
And how "Dream 13" is looking so far, I'm sure it'd be one of my favs. UTS quickly became one of my all time fav songs, and ABINK is just... beautiful. The album feels like, um, what "The Cure" was supposed to be, with the Wish era heavily influencing it.

I would like to put on a B-sides album if there was one to get. I have some difficulties to apprahend the hide and seek RS often have played with the bands B-sides. Some great songs are to be find there.

After nearly 10 years of listening, I think this is how I'd have to rate them, although they all have their high points and low points (except Disintegration, which seems to be a constant high)
So hard to pick the top few...sorry, but anything after Wish is at the bottom
1 - Disintegration (the ultimate artistic statement from Robert Smith)
2 - Kiss Me... (so many styles, so many great songs)
3 - Faith (rounds out the top tier of albums - not a bad song on the thing)
4 - Seventeen Seconds (you need to listen to the whole thing in one sitting)
5 - Pornography (not an easy listen but a great album)
6 - Wish (could have moved up a couple slots if This Twilight Garden was on it)
7 - Japanese Whispers (The Walk and Lament - enough said)
8 - The Head on the Door (too poppy and a few weak tracks but Push is on it, so..)
9 - The Top (uneven but still great)
10 - Boys Dont Cry
11 - Bloodflowers
12 - Wild Mood Swings
13 - The Cure
14 - 4:13 Dream

8. The Head On The Door (the "hit" album with great moments)
9. 4:13 Dream (they still have it)
10. The Top (only for pure Cure fans)
11. The Cure (very good but something missing, in my opinion)
12. Wild Mood Swings (i love it even if it's so strange)
13. 3 Imaginary Boys (wrong choice of the songs. It should have included "Killing an Arab", "Boys Don't Cry" and "Jumping someone Else's Train"... then it would be great, as BDC (US version) realy is)
Uhm, I can't really rank them in order from best to worst really. The only thing I can say is Disintegration is best & their latest album is less likeable but not totally awful. The remainder of the albums have no specific order for me because they all contain some songs on each that I love.

japanese whispers 9 i love this album of bsides that kick major ass
pornography 8 the birth of goth, dark yet fluid
17 seconds 8 a very awesome sophmore album, took them to the front of the class
TIM 7 the us version is better despite that horrible cover of foxy lady
faith 5 some good stuff, but sometimes its like molasses in january
WMS 4 like songs like want, this is a lie , rest is pretty awful, maybe make a japanese whisper like compilation with the few good songs, the b-sides , plus dred song , burn etc !
the TOP, 2 i consider japanese whispers more listenable than this joke of an excuse(released just 5 months after japanese whispers), the album of bsides (JW) has more credibility, really , if the "s/t " album wasn't so annoying, this would be at the bottom
the cure ,1 the best song, going nowhere is unavailable where i live , this album gets a 1 , who ever decided that going nowhere not be included in north america has a suck button that goes to 11

11.The Cure(Seems there was little passion on display here, instantly forgettable)
12.4:13 Dream(Couldn't be bothered to purchase after a preview, dry, dull and emotionless)
