This is just a response to In Orange topic.

Here are my remarks on Play Out:

1) Excellent idea, filming the band, fly on the wall, for 'seven' days
2) I love the closeness to the band, you can see all of them being really cool
3) Great demo versions of Cut and Wendy Time
4) Big Hand live!!!
5) Total mess with lyrics on Harold and Joe
6) Bloody awesome Wembley Arena footage. Too bad they didn't record a whole gig
7) Funny but ultimately lousy playing at a rehearsal studio
8) Simon explaining Never Enough riff to Perry in the dressing room
9) Roger Daltrey giving award to the band saying he expected a drum machine
10) Awesomely cool Jonathan Ross

This is really only for hardcore fans, but I WANT IT ON DVD PRESTO!!!
Fatter than Bob, balder than Porl, as sober as Simon, as amusing as Jason

YES PLEASE!!!!  LOVE this video.....

My somewhat random thoughts -
1) great up close and personal footage....
2) absolutely fascinating demo versions of Cut and Wendy Time
3) the Jonathon Ross "house band"  :-D
4) Robert being filmed getting ready for the Wembley Arena show by a Spanish TV crew (am I the only one who finds that slightly creepy?)
5) AWESOME footage of the Wembley show (completely agree with you Janko - I tried to pick a fave but couldn't...)
6) the kazoo duel in the rehearsal studio  :smth042
7) the simply gorgeous demo version of A Letter to Elise on MTV Unplugged
8) If Only Tonight We Could Sleep on MTV Unplugged..
9) Simon clowning around in the Fiction office...
10) Roger Daltrey - "The Coooore"...

LOVE IT!!!
The further we go, and older we grow, the more we know the less we show

Half a year ago I ask my friend to upload Play Out DVD on PirateBay or Demonoid.
Then his friend uploaded it on PirateBay. I think its already there.

I've recently re-watched my old VHS video - I bought this about 19 years ago. Loved it, as it was so much behind-the-scenes stuff plus cool performances (club, stadium, acoustic, all very different! - another thing why I like the Cure, not always doing the same...)!  8)

I think this video contains the best "Pictures Of You", "Fascination Street" and "The Big Hand" live versions ever!

I think that Show is a strong contender for POY, setting aside all its shortcomings as a live album. Otherwise you're right. Great stuff, that.

Oops, I did it again! While still possible with my old machine (VHS/dvd-combo) I re-watched "The Cure Play Out". It was released in late 1991 I think (not long after "Picture Show", a collection of videos). Back then it helped a bit while waiting for the next album (there were a few new songs included, early versions, sometimes different lyrics).  :cool

Here's a new link on youtube (it might not stay around forever):
