I searched myspace and came up with many suspicious myspace pages for Smitty...none of them seemed real, they mostly just said, "I am the singer of The Cure" and had empty backgrounds...I'd think Robert would be a little more professional and maybe have more than 100 friends :roll:
I checked alot of them, and I was almost sure that none were real. Do ny of you know if Robert REALLY has a myspace page and where to find it?

That's what I thought! I'd think the real Smith would have more than just 16 friends...and no, Robert doesn't really seem like a Myspace guy...I like how he's kind of quiet and reserved. It makes him more interesting. I just really want to have Smitty on my myspace...
With all the obsession with Myspace, I wouldn't be much surprised if he doesn't have a page at all, but just perhaps a band page with news and such, kept by someone else, which I *think* I've seen at some point... But can't be 100% sure, I'm not on there.

How do you explain a single comment and 16 friends?
I read in some interview that the only reason why he set up the account was so that if he wanted to post information people would know it was from him. He encouraged all of the band members to set them up. Now if only I could remember where I read that.......
Really, does it make sense that the official Cure MySpace page would have top friends that were people posing as the band members?

Yes, it's 100% true, Robert, Simon, Jason and Porl all have their own Myspace page.
These pages were first started by Geffen because there were people acting as imposters with fake Myspace pages posing as members of The Cure.
So Geffen made a Myspace page for each member of The Cure, they didn't add any information to the page, they just opened it and made it empty and said if the members of The Cure want to add info and use their page it's their decision, but the main reason Geffen started the page was so there is no confusion about the "real" Cure members Myspace pages.
Geffen said the way to know the "real" members Myspace page is that they will be kept in the Top 4 on Geffen's official The Cure Myspace page :

It seems Robert and Jason don't look at their pages, Simon used to a little bit but now not much, Porl had about 1000 friends but then he changed his page and made it a "private" page with now only about 100 friends.
Yes, Simon's daughter Lili is on Myspace, so is his son Eden (and also his band Violet Vendetta), also Porl's son Tod is on Myspace too.

Who removed their pages? If you're refering to The Cure official and Smith and everyone else in the band...the pages are intact and still running.
Well, Robert and Simon's pages with the 16 friends are gone...and I feel bad about it because I didn't know they didn't like friends requests and I wish I could have respected that.
